Former Georgia congressman Newt Gingrich is sitting pretty today, a likely choice for a top position in President-elect Donald Trumps administration.
U.S. Secretary of State Gingrich, anybody?
I fully expect that Newt will get some type of very prominent position in the Trump administration, Peake said Wednesday morning. Who knows? Theres probably a handful of people who can name what they want and Newt would be on that short list.
Larry Sabato, who runs the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, said Gingrich as secretary of state wouldnt allow for many dull moments.
If I owned a China shop Id sell it, because Gingrich, in whatever role Trump gives him, will be a bull, Sabato said via email. Gingrich finally got his revenge on the Clintonsand it was total.

If he wants it.
For the most part, yes, he is — but that PSA was a real error in judgment.
I’ve heard Corker is being floated for SOS ..Corker needs to be vigorously opposed for any and all positions in the Trump admin . Corker is a sellout globalist.
It is also crucial to make sure that DOJ is headed up by a competent, pro Second Amendment AG, as ATF now falls under DOJ control . We must spread the word, as this is a crucial time to make sure these positions are filled by non- globalist Constitutionalists .
Larry Sabato really screwed the pooch with his predictions.
I had not heard this, but it makes sense:
Basically, he wants to be Inspector General, which would be a better use of him than Chief of Staff or Secretary of State. That is investigative and analytical think tank type stuff which is right up Newt’s alley. Trump needs someone younger and with more energy for those two cabinet positions. And someone who is more consistently conservative and nationalist than Newt.
Newt is very smart and a fast read. He supported Trump from the start. He will fit nicely. He sure as hell isn't a pedophile as it seems half of the Dems in DC.
There should be a standing order to arrest Gingrich if he gets within 1500 feet of the White House for the next four years.
If there’s anyone who knows how to completely F up a total victory over the Clintons, it’s Gingrich.
Hard to think of a name I’d less like to have influence over the next four years than this owl-worshipping weasel.
> Newt is very smart and a fast read.
So was Josef Mengele, although it’s indeterminate which of the two had a stronger ethical and moral fiber.
So you compare Newt to a NAZI madman.
Check your batteries.
Exactly....Newt will likely be Chief of Staff. Bolton as SOS.
Agreed. Gingrich was on Hannity and indicated in so many words he did not want a cabinet job but rather a strategic planner type role. Gingrich is a big thinker with an incredible intellect. Hopefully Trump will put him to good use.
Yes the comparison is accurate.
Do I need to whip out that video of Gingrich suggesting that the US govt should purposely allow a major terrorist attack to scare us into compliance with a police state, again?
I continue to be astonished how many fail to recognize Gingrich for the very deliberate, very insidious well poisoner that he is.
No sane political person would want Gingrich within a hundred miles.
Whip it on out there Carlos.
and check those batteries.
Now you know, and no longer have any excuse to put in any good word for that owl-worshiping occultist.
I'm glad Gingrich supported Trump, and I truly believe Trump would not have won this election without him (and others). We owe him thanks for that, but he should serve only in an advisory role to President Trump. Nominating a career Beltway fixture like Gingrich to a cabinet position is the antithesis of "draining the swamp" as Trump has promised to do.
That's even worse.
Uh, no. Newt was a fixture of the 1990s, and hasn't been in office in almost two decades. Trump needed a prominent, respected political figure on the ticket whose personality was the exact opposite of his. Pence is perfect for this role.
Later, Rudy said he'd participated in actual interventions and no way did Trump "need any intervention."
Rudy is quite a good friend and he didn't look very happy after Newt made those kind of comments.
I don't know if Newt made those comments elsewhere, but I really don't think Trump cared one bit to have one on his "team" out claiming he needed any kind of intervention.
