We don't owe Newt an apology. That PSA with Pelosi represented everything that was wrong with Washington politics. Gingrich wasn't even in public office when he made that ad. He was a well-paid lobbyist who hitched his wagon to Pelosi and made that ad because he was working for some stupid "alternative energy" industry group that was trying to undermine their competition in the form of fossil fuels.

I'm glad Gingrich supported Trump, and I truly believe Trump would not have won this election without him (and others). We owe him thanks for that, but he should serve only in an advisory role to President Trump. Nominating a career Beltway fixture like Gingrich to a cabinet position is the antithesis of "draining the swamp" as Trump has promised to do.
