I propose that "the movement" of We the people have several theme songs if you will. My picks would be:
Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q65KZIqay4E
The Gatlin Brother's "Stand Up and Say So"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk_w4fZQXhI
Krista Branch's "I am America" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0heL2Czeraw
My apologies but I don't know how to embed a link.(I haven't posted in a very long time)
Any thoughts, comments
The Song of the Dawn--Paul Whiteman & His Orchestra
Hard to believe they are crying because the most crooked politician ever was not elected President.
The Deplorables song...
I like it! It shows where they are right now.
Here we stand and face the world, renegades of consternation
Innocent in thought and word, ready for a new sensation
Block up the dam, close up the well to stop it flowing
Your memory is not preferred, for that is not the way we're going
Sliding away, from liberty to lethargy we fall
Subsiding again, collapsing from the burden of it all
Chorus:
But time after time we believe in better
Never let a chance pass us by
And we're sure we'll never fail to notice
Sign after sign, that a change is coming
Time is running out like a tide
But we think we're on a march of progress
From ashes we rise, to ashes we fall
We cannot disguise our hand in it all
Here we stand and take the blame, we thought that this could last forever
We turned our backs on God again, but everybody longs for heaven
Sliding away, from vision to deficiency we fall
Subsiding again, collapsing from the burden of it all
Here we stand and face the end, apathy alive and growing
On independence we depend but that is not the way we're going
Sliding away, from plenty to dependency we fall
Subsiding again, collapsing from the burden of it all
Here's the correct one
Oh the time will come up
When the winds will stop
And the breeze will cease to be breathin
Like the stillness in the wind
Fore the hurricane begins
The hour when the ship comes in
Oh the seas will split
And the ship will hit
And the sands on the shoreline will be shaking
Then the tide will sound
And the wind will pound
And the morning will be breaking
Oh the fishes will laugh
As they swim out of the path
And the seagulls theyll be smiling
And the rocks on the sand
Will proudly stand
The hour that the ship comes in
And the words that are used
For to get the ship confused
Will not be understood as theyre spoken
For the chains of the sea
Will have busted in the night
And will be buried at the bottom of the ocean
A song will lift
As the mainsail shifts
And the boat drifts on to the shoreline
And the sun will respect
Every face on the deck
The hour that the ship comes in
Then the sands will roll
Out a carpet of gold
For your weary toes to be a-touchin
And the ships wise men
Will remind you once again
That the whole wide world is watchin
Oh the foes will rise
With the sleep still in their eyes
And theyll jerk from their beds and think theyre dreamin
But theyll pinch themselves and squeal
And know that its for real
The hour when the ship comes in
Then theyll raise their hands
Sayin well meet all your demands
But well shout from the bow your days are numbered
And like Pharoahs tribe
Theyll be drownded in the tide
And like Goliath, theyll be conquered
Jason Aldean - Fly Over States
I am not a big fan of modern country music, but I really love this song. The whole thing brings me right back to any cross-country trips I've taken across the Midwest and Great Plains states.
If they ever caught a harvest moon in Kansas ... they'd understand why God made those flyover states.
We're losing our rights, we must graft for a holding
Apathetic men awake to a nightmare unfolding
Don't complain, cut and fight, for until battle comes
We're the slaves to the beat of an unchallenged drum
Stand ground.
Rally round.
