I tuned in to MSNBC to see the look on the face of that Maddow guy. I was very disappointed. I expected him to be somber and sad, but he was almost jovial.

Oh. My. God. This is turning out to be an unprecedented turning point in American politics. I never expected that he might win. I expected that the best we could do is fight them to a narrow loss, and that would force TPTB to at least recognize that there is a significant and vocal minority who are tired of being mocked, ignored and push aside by the establishment politicians.

I gotta give the NYT online edition credit for their election coverage. They’ve done a better job of predicting and reporting state by state results better than their network counterparts. Never thought I’d praise the New York Times for anything, but tonight they did a very good job.

Trump moves within reach of the White House

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Donald Trump moved within reach of the White House Tuesday night, capturing crucial victories over Hillary Clinton in Florida, Ohio and North Carolina, a remarkable show of strength by the celebrity businessman and political novice who upended American politics with his brash rhetoric and calls for sweeping change.

He also stunningly carried Pennsylvania, breaking through a Democratic firewall in a state that had not backed a Republican for president since 1988. His victories left Clinton with a perilously narrow path and no margin for error in battleground states where votes were still being counted.

As the race lurched well past midnight, Trump inched closer to the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the White House. Trump stood at 266 to Clinton's 218.
