Cokie Roberts who was being snippy before the speech because a woman didn’t win, was actually gracious and said it was a good speech. Knock me over. Even Bill Kristol even said it’s time to get behind him.

Guy on MSNBC (Richard somebody) just called Trump a megalomaniac and narcissist.
These people are unbelievable.
Unbelievable. Trump will end up with between 306 and 320 EVs (I’m still hopeful of getting NH and MN), having won freaking WI, PA and MI in the Rust Belt. And he won ME-02!
And it looks like we’re getting 53 Senate seats, with only Ayotte in doubt (and with Heck and Glenn losing narrowly). And how many House seats are we getting, 240+? Total victory.
I was against Trump from the second that he hinted at running for president, given that I thought that he (i) was a liberal, (ii) didn’t have the temperament to be president and (iii) couldn’t possibly win the general. Well, I’m still not convinced about (i) or (ii), but he’s come a long way to convincing me about (i) during the campaign, and his behavior during the past two weeks and (particularly) his victory speech makes me feel a lot better about (ii). And, boy, was I wrong about (iii).
Forgive me going all caps, but I am cutting and pasting from a personal email I sent out a short while ago - and I was EXCITED :-)
PREDICTION: YOU WILL BE SHOCKED WHEN YOU FIND OUT WHAT % OF DEMOCRATS IN THE RUST BELT VOTED FOR TRUMP. THAT IS MY PREDICTION. ITS NICE TO BE CORRECT ONCE IN A WHILE.
I SAID A YEAR AGO THAT I SUPPORTED TRUMP BECAUSE:
A. I WANTED HIM TO STICK IT TO THE GOP ESTABLISHMENT. AND HE DID.
B. I DIDN’T KNOW IF HE WOULD WIN, BUT I WAS 100% CERTAIN THAT HE WAS THE ONLY REPUBLICAN WHO COULD WIN. AND I WAS RIGHT THERE TOO.
NONE OF THE OTHER 16 OR SO POLITICAL CLOWNS WHO RAN AGAINST HIM IN THE PRIMARIES COULD HAVE FLIPPED A SINGLE RUST BELT STATE.
F_ THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. TRUMP RAN AS A PROTEST AGAINST THE STATUS QUO, BUT HE WOUND UP LEADING A MOVEMENT.
AMERICA FIRST. PROTECT OUR BORDERS. PROTECT OUR JOBS. GIVE EVERYONE A CHANCE. AND THAT MEANS THE PEOPLE IN APPALACHIA AND THE PEOPLE IN THE INNER CITIES WHO HAVE BEEN FORGOTTEN AND LEFT BEHIND. GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO GET JOBS AND PULL THEMSELVES OUT OF THE POVERTY THEY ARE IN. WELFARE ONLY PERPETUATES THAT STATE. OPPORTUNITY IS THE CURE TO IT.
I HOPE TRUMP COMES IN AND CLEANS HOUSE - LEFT AND RIGHT. THIS IS NOT A PARTY THING. ITS AN AMERICA THING. CALL IT POPULISM, OR WHATEVER. I’LL CALL IT COMMON SENSE.
