They need a permit? Utterly ridiculous.

Then again this is the People’s Republic of California.

Combine this with the federal commerce clause and it will soon be illegal to cook food for your own consumption.

The deputy district attorney for San Joaquin County, Kelly McDaniel, says selling any food not subject to health department inspection puts the people who eat that food in danger.

But if she gave the food away, it would be legal. So it's, clearly, not a health issue but a money issue.

She says it also undercuts business owners who get permits to make their food.

Again, if she had no permit and gave food away, no problemo. Oh, the joys of permits wherein the government takes away a right and then sells it back to you.

In the reign of Obama, you must kiss the ring if you want to conduct any commerce... Freedom has too many micro aggressions.

Here in Pacoima, there are no less than 6 Portable Restaurants setup on the STREET complete with Tables and Chairs on the Sidewalk just in 1 mile on 1 Street.

If you go Through the Neighborhood, you will find at least 20 Makeshift Restaurants setup in Front Yards on any weekend, a lot during the week also.
