According to the New Yorker, "Comeys decision to make public new evidence that may raise additional legal questions about Clinton was contrary to the views of the Attorney General, according to a well-informed Administration official. Lynch expressed her preference that Comey follow the departments longstanding practice of not commenting on ongoing investigations, and not taking any action that could influence the outcome of an election, but he said that he felt compelled to do otherwise."
Traditionally, the Justice Department has advised prosecutors and law enforcement to avoid any appearance of meddling in the outcome of elections, even if it means holding off on pressing cases. One former senior official recalled that Janet Reno, the Attorney General under Bill Clinton, completely shut down the prosecution of a politically sensitive criminal target prior to an election. She was adamantanything that could influence the election had to go dark, the former official said.
And the punchline:
"according to the Administration official, Lynch asked Comey to follow Justice Department policies, but he said that he was obliged to break with them because he had promised to inform members of Congress if there were further developments in the case. He also felt that the impending election created a compelling need to inform the public, despite the tradition of acting with added discretion around elections. The Administration official said that Lynch and Justice Department officials are studying the situation, which he called unprecedented."

They probably got the news to Giuliani. Then, he told them to let Comey know what they had, or G told Comey to step up to the plate or get destroyed by this.
Then, if Comey did nothing, they would go global with the breeches of National Security with redactions at first.
That would have removed not only Clinton, but Comey, Lynch and any rat involved in the emails.
Se essentially, Lynch was attempting to interfere in the investigation to the benefit of Hillary. The New Yorker also quotes ‘former’ justice department officials off the record saying the it is ‘unprecedented’ for the FBI to interfere in an election days before an election... So when Comey cleared Clinton of any wrong doing earlier this year that wasn’t a ‘precedent’? Comey should have kept his mouth shut then, and he probably should have kept it shut in this instance as well, but when WikiLeaks says it’s going to reveal an email that will result in Clinton facing incitement, it’s probably best to muddy the waters with Huma’s emails.
They have a history of people conveniently biting the big one. So far, they've gotten away with it.
I read/understood from this article http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/james-comey-broke-with-loretta-lynch-and-justice-department-tradition
That many are not happy Comey did not follow “rules” to hold or delay timing of FBI telling congress or The People info so as not to influence elections.
How stupid are these folks who made the rules years ago - they are exactly influencing elections by delaying telling congress or the people things around the time of elections.
To my view, it’s called being truthful and the best time to be truthful is ALWAYS ! not delay information if if not complete information just because of timing.
That’s as goofy as delaying telling a friend suspicions of their fiancé because you think it best to wait until after the wedding so as not to mess up the wedding day.
Comey at least would seem to have the benefit of excellent physical security (the FBI agents). As long as he stays away from windows he probably will survive.
Next week, Lynch will fire Comey.
Bttt, but it was an investigation by NYPD
ON PURPOSE,BY DESIGN
If Trump is the man we need him to be and powers through this election to win it then Obama’s probable pardons will be so much waste paper.
Attempting to entice an underage person using the "mails" (that includes the internet) is a Federal crime.
"Former President Bill Clinton, doing his best Boss Hogg/godfather impersonation, rendezvoused with Attorney General Loretta Lynch on the middle of the scorching Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport tarmac to discuss grandchildren, golf, family and of course his wifes possible indictment for violating a couple hundred national security statutes."
In his new book Crisis of Character: A White House Secret, Gary Bryne tells about another secret service agents private encounter with the GodFather, Boss Hogg, Bill Clinton, during Bubba's impeachment testimony hearings, starting on page 166-167.
Clinton approached the agent and after some small talk, he asked the agent how his wife and kids were ...They had never actually talked before.
Nothing about that was normal. It was obviously a subtle form of intimidation. The president was sending a message that he knew of the officers recent testimony,---and perhaps was sending a more sinister message.
Meanwhile Hilliarily Clinton has a message for Americans, who believe in the law and justice!
Comey probably got an email from one of Killiarilys servers telling him what would happen to his family and her if he filed charges.

Exactly right. The blackmail issue is yuge.
Thanks, that too!
Maybe he meant ‘quash’ , but squash works for me too
“What, you mean like a summer squash?” LOL
Given COmey’s previous connections to the Clinton fund and to ISBC etc, I suspect there is no attack of conscience occurring but rather a rather frantic bout of the CYAs. If he skates out of this unindicted himeslf he is heading to ignominious retirement.
BTTT
They would not have gone public with this unless they knew it was all going to fall out on top of them regardless of their efforts. I would like to think that Julian Assange statues will grace public squares a few decades hence.
