DOJ's Loretta Lynch Tried To Squash Comey's Letter To Congress
Zero Hedge ^ | October 20, 2016 | Tyler Durden

(snip)

According to the New Yorker, "Comey’s decision to make public new evidence that may raise additional legal questions about Clinton was contrary to the views of the Attorney General, according to a well-informed Administration official. Lynch expressed her preference that Comey follow the department’s longstanding practice of not commenting on ongoing investigations, and not taking any action that could influence the outcome of an election, but he said that he felt compelled to do otherwise."

Traditionally, the Justice Department has advised prosecutors and law enforcement to avoid any appearance of meddling in the outcome of elections, even if it means holding off on pressing cases. One former senior official recalled that Janet Reno, the Attorney General under Bill Clinton, “completely shut down” the prosecution of a politically sensitive criminal target prior to an election. “She was adamant—anything that could influence the election had to go dark,” the former official said.

And the punchline:

"according to the Administration official, Lynch asked Comey to follow Justice Department policies, but he said that he was obliged to break with them because he had promised to inform members of Congress if there were further developments in the case. He also felt that the impending election created a compelling need to inform the public, despite the tradition of acting with added discretion around elections. The Administration official said that Lynch and Justice Department officials are studying the situation, which he called unprecedented."

The bottom line? Loretta should have serviced Comey in the back of the plane in Phoenix, not Bubba.

It may be good timing on Comey’s part, knowing that DOJ probably can’t easily stop the process and information before the election, but could have in July.

What is really important is Weiner’s access. Prior to this, Comey could say it was just people with clearances being reckless...but there was no evidence anybody without clearance, accesses the emails.

Well that changes if serial pervert Weiner had access to them. He has no clearance and is a textbook case for blackmail.

Fox News online has this confirmation re Trump a year ago in August telling us that Weiner/Huma were national security risks.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/10/29/trump-called-it-months-ago-anthony-weiner-threatens-national-security.html

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump saw this coming from a mile away, fingering Weiner as a potential national security threat all the way back in August of 2015. “It came out that Huma Abedin knows all about Hillary’s private illegal emails,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Huma’s PR husband, Anthony Weiner, will tell the world.”

More proof that Trump’s private intel service has been more effective in ferreting out evil than our FBI,NSA, and CIA.!!!!

For sure, Loretta Lynch isn’t going to put THAT genie back in the bottle anytime soon.

Before you spill acid, make sure it is not between yourself and some means of neutralizing the effects of that spill.

I wonder if a few Patriot's in the Dept. with knowledge of the skeleton's in Comeys closet prodded him into the decision? Not that the Clinton's probably don't have some dirt on him as well. Comey's past behavior, bad decisions and relationships has put him between a rock and a hard place. Sucks to be him.

Lynch asked Comey to follow Justice Department policies...

Is this not the same Lynch that met privately with Bill Clinton on the tarmac in Arizona? Is it policy for the A.G. to talk privately to persons involved in criminal investigations?

Like Janet Reno is the gold standard regarding department guidelines. I almost had to vomit after reading that. Reno covered up for Democrats in the past. Therefore, that precedent must continue

While having a private server and sending unsecured confidential emails is granting access, it’s another topic. Your point is extremely valid. WEINER WAS KNOWN TO ENGAGE IN SHADY ACTIVITIES. He lost his position and an election from multiple poor decisions and was currently ensnared for illegalities (sexual with underaged girl). These emails may have been found by accident by the NYPD, or there could have been a deal made by Weiner. If the latter, he may be in more trouble than soliciting underaged girls. And he does like to work out.

If this is not, itself, a Clinton op then Comey had better stay out of places with usable lines of fire and had better have the protection of the entire FBI. And stay out of Arkansas, geographically and figuratively.

Isn’t it truly pathetic what the American people have been subjected to with regard to these Clintons and Obamas? I am so disgusted to be an American right now.
