The latest episode of Hawaii Five-0, Ke Ku Ana, is full of embarrassing falsehoods and other anti-gun propaganda.
Kyle Kane is a deranged father who blames gun culture for the mass shooting perpetrated by his son, so he holds a room full of hostages at gunpoint to send a message. Left unstated: Kyles son obtained his firearm through a straw purchase, a process that is already illegal and carries a sentence of up to ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the purchase alone even if the illegally purchased firearm were never used in another crime.
As irrational as Kyles rant may be, at least he can claim ignorance. For Detective Danny Williams, there are no convenient excuses. As a law enforcement officer he should know better. Instead, he agrees with the murderer (Kyle had already murdered a social media star famous for his gun collection), explaining that, as a cop, he is also outraged at how easy it is to get a gun, no questions asked.

Liberals insert political propaganda into entertainment.
They feel so insecure about their beliefs they have to push it where its not wanted.
Cultural dominance doesn’t allow the Left to rest easy.
There are a lot of programs I stopped watching because of this kind of crap. Criminal Minds, Elementary, and some others who’ve all made veiled references to uncontrolled gun ownership and the like. Screw them.
Crappy show. Quit watching after a couple of episodes - the remake novelty wore off quickly.
The original show strayed into this territory sometimes, too. Back then, Jack Lord had a lot of creative control over the show, so it’s likely that the anti-gun content was his idea.
This is a sad excuse for an update of a classic series. More liberal agitprop.
I am sure there are no private sales in the state of Hawaii. Everyone must purchase from a ATF approved FFL holder and fill out form 4473. Many questions asked.
How come no one defended themselves with a gun? Answer: the state has discouraged private firearms ownership and outlawed carry outside the home. The state created the problem. Now they propose solutions already in effect. More of the same will not fix. It’s like fixing obamacare. Just end it and the state interference to private action.
Have you ever seen ANYONE other than jack lord wear a long sleeve Hawaiian shirt? ;-)
” Everyone must purchase from a ATF approved FFL holder and fill out form 4473. Many questions asked” Everyone? You know where I’m going with that................ ;-)
Tis is the last season for 5-O so the story lines have gotten dumber and dumber. Show started strong first season, now stumbling to the end. This episode is a prime example.

Madam Secretary
Brain-dead
Designated Survivor
Just to name a few.
Worst remake ever...
The original Hawaii 5-0 was also very anti gun.
Agreed. I can remember reading at the trap club that I shoot at an old issue of “American Rifleman” from the 1970s and in it was a report on Jack Lord apparently commenting in an interview that he favoured banning handguns.
Two groups of people that should stay out of politics, Hollywood producers and Popes.
And networks won der why their ratings suck. Why affiliates put up with cr@p is beyond me.
A bit unrelated, but who here remembers the series “Hawaiian Eye”? Was it just as good or even better than the original “Five-O”? If my memory serves me properly, it was an early feature for Connie Stevens.
LOL! I was just gonna say that. Wasn’t Connie Stevens in that one? Or was that 77 Sunset Strip. Ed Kookie Burns? Showing my wear and tear now.
Did they cover the shooter’s previously diagnosed mental disorders, the pills he was prescribed, the pot and other drugs he was abusing in addition to his prescribed meds he didn’t always take?
Did they cover the FBI and police files on is violent threats and outburts and prior infractions that were brushed aside to “give him another chance”?
Did they cover how he targeted those who identified as Christians?
I mean if they are going to tackle the issue of rampage shootings they should cover ALL of the bases and not just the “gun nuts” angle.
They PAY to insert political messaging in such programming (they also paid to put messaging in Mad Men).
The US government paid Hollywood to put the Obamacare message into fictional programming.
There have been FR threads about it.
Any paid messaging should be disclosed upfront and at the conclusion.
