A tale of two rallies.
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton held rallies in Tampa, Florida this week.
Trump got 20,000 supporters out
Hillary campaign had to bribe 2,000 people to get them to come

“Large rallies do not equal large votes.”
The hell they don’t.
Rally sizes directly correlate with voter enthusiasm (or lack thereof), in the same way that concert attendance numbers directly correlate with record sales.
I can’t believe you posted links to the NY Times and Nate Silver to ‘prove’ your argument. As if those sources are respected authorities here .. LOL
Geez, man. Did you forget what we witnessed in the primary? Trump consistently had the biggest rally crowds AND drew the most votes. Trump wound up pulling the highest number of primary votes in Republican party history. He now also holds the all time record for small donor contributions, which is another strong barometer of voter support.
Why do Ds pay people to come to rallies anyways?
Are the visuals THAT important to them?
I mean, if it was offered, I might take the money and then stick headphones in and play with my phone the whole time, especially if I’m in the front row.
“Trump could, and has, held dozens of rallies.”
More like hundreds. He’s been doing multiple rallies per week since June of 2015. Let that sink in.
He is, without a doubt, the hardest working candidate we have ever seen. He’ll be the same way as president.
Check the born on date.
I’m surprised that Hillary got 2000!
Just ask them what they would be saying if the numbers were the other way around.
They would be wetting their pants that Trump was not attracting voters.
Trump has been doing multiple rallies a week, for seventeen months, and they’ve all been heavily attended. He has also now broken records for number of primary votes and donations from individuals.
He has proven to be the hardest working, hardest fighting candidate in living memory, and has re-written the political campaigning playbook.
Brushing off his huge and sustained rally attendance numbers (as you just did) casts a pall of suspicion over your status as a newbie here.
“shes been around for decades”
I get the image of an old car, parked around the side of the house, slowly rusting away in the dirt. A worthless heap that hasn’t moved in too long to remember, stuffed with old junk. No one even knows where the keys are anymore.
Slap a Hillary sticker on that baby, and you’ve got a perfect metaphor for her campaign.
Mondale was never a genuine movement. Did he actually fill entire stadiums with lines stretching a mile or so out the door?
In this case, I believe crowd size will translate into votes. We have good evidence thereof based on the primaries.
“Check the born on date.”
I did, and was not surprised. I’ve seen that so many times now, it no longer fazes me.
Bernie would be the nominee if not for Hillary and DNC heating.
“Im surprised that Hillary got 2000!”
She didn’t even get that many. Post 56 proves she got around 400, tops.
She’s a dilapidated heap, broke down on the freeway. Call a tow truck.
No.not spooky. Great minds think alike. :)
True.
I was at Trump’s Tampa rally. I think the crowd in line at the concession stand was the same size as Hillary’s entire rally.
Trump has consistently drawn huge crowds no matter where he goes.
For Hillary the anomaly is a huge crowd - she's your Mondale.
Except she didn’t get 2,000.
“Trump could, and has, held dozens of rallies.”
Dozens? Try hundreds! Hundreds. 1 to 3 every day for the past 400+ days.
“Rally sizes directly correlate with voter enthusiasm (or lack thereof), in the same way that concert attendance numbers directly correlate with record sales.”
Dead on!
The last 2 weeks of the campaign, Hillary’s rally attendances ought to be increasing, rivalling Trumps. They are obviously not. This is the enthusiasm gap. This will show up on election day. The trends are looking good.
