ST. GEORGE, Maine (AP) -- U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts is upgrading his vacation home in Maine.
Roberts and his wife, Jane Roberts, of Chevy Chase, Maryland, purchased a second Hupper Island home in the town of St. George this month. The 1,560-square-foot, waterfront home is larger than the original home on abutting property that they bought in 2006.

I have a cousin who, some years ago was Dean of the Law School at the University of Maine. He bought a home on an island, including the island, for taxes owed. Extraordinary property! From pics I have seen of his place it makes the Roberts place look pickerly.
When we bought our house we looked for exactly what we wanted so we would never have to move again but still what we could afford that wouldn’t break us. 1/3 acre, 2000 sq ft not including sunroom, pool, spa.
Now it’s way too much house for us. We have rooms we don’t use and since hubby is disabled we have a gardener, a pool guy, a housekeeper, and a handyman. We also have a family friend who is a plumber.
I’d like to buy a larger boat and just live on it. Hubby says no. We have property in Hawaii. I’d like to build on it and move. Hubby says no.
Guess we’re stuck with this big azz house. Lol
Mother-in-law says no way...
We didn't, and I regret it.
Awww I’m sorry. We’ve had our 40 ft sailboat about 15 yrs now. I’d love to live on the water. Buy a 50 ft or more motoryacht and never leave. :)
Maybe there’s an extra love nest for his boyfriend that we’re not supposed to know about.
“People get money from all kinds of places so I am not willing to convict someone without proof.”
We can’t convict anyone of anything, as we are neither judges nor jurors.
However, we can draw an informed conclusion as to what this is. I have decided to apply the “quacks like a duck” test. Even so, I know that I will remain open to facts that might tend to exonerate the depraved SOB, as I’m sure you will too.
In life, perception IS reality...and it in not up to the mispercieved to adjust that reality.
It's one of the big reasons so many are petrified Trump will win.
If there is evidence of bribes to the big boys, Trump is likely going to order it be found. And then indictments. And then jail.

“In life, perception IS reality...and it in not up to the mispercieved to adjust that reality.”
Sorry, I don’t follow.
I can say that I strongly reject the idea that perception is reality. Reality exists independently of perception, which can be more accurate or less.
Is my perception of you wrong? I would bet it is...I would bet you are indeed a like minded fellow Freeper who I could have incredible and enjoyable discussions with - yet I have an almost immediate perception you are an ass! If you might also enjoy constructive conversations with a like minded person who has much to add, change my perception.
Can some/all of this wealth be traced to a kick back?
Of course.
I’d settle for black mold.
I for one, with trump in power, would welcome leaking Robert’s malfeasance on his adoptions and gay past...if it points to blackmail causing his decisions. I believe did.
