The Fiske report addressed this - there were blonde hairs found inside his shirt (along with carpet fibers on his back that appeared to match his office carpet) and they were remarked upon in the autopsy report. There was no effort to identify them, but it was pretty clear at the time.

That's why Hannah Arendt once called thiings like this "the banality of evil." Evil rarely comes with flashing lights and a loud presentation to announce itself. It is a creepy, almost harmless-seeming thing. But its little gray minions do banal things and the sum of it adds up incrementally.
