I am not a fan of Cheryl Crow and have never been one, but she is correct. The presidential campaigns are way to long.

Especially since the Elites have already decided the outcome.

Sheryl Crow is one of my many "shut up and sing" artists. I also agree with her on this as well.

How about: mind your own business and respect others’ right to free speech, including campaigning.
Change the channel if you don’t like what’s on.

The only one who got smashed was Hillary. Hillary started the two year campaign cycle in 2007-2008. Sheryl Crow is a Dem Rat. The country is fighting back against monstrous tyranny.

Do the math.

Weird. I just started a petition to limit the number of award shows per year to one.

I will say there were way too many Republican candidates running for the nomination.

They need no more than three.

Yeah. Shorten it to a month. That way, we might have ended up with the RIGHTFUL candidate—Jeb!

Countries across the globe have limited campaign seasons to as short as 6 weeks.

Having a cycle too short also limits the amount of vetting that can be performed on a candidate.

The political propaganda of 20 + months gets longer and more expensive, all in order to possibly sway the swayable 10% of dumbest voters who supposedly decide all national elections, or convince folks to vote or not to vote at all. Despite that we haven’t had 65% eligible voter turnout since 1908, which might actually be a good thing if it only increases the swing vote as a %. Meanwhile attention spans shorten as actual human memory is replaced by whatever happens to showcased in the media cycle.

This will just give the establishment more time to sandbag everybody else.

If the allowed campaign time was shorter less money would need to be raised. I think this blind squirrel found her acorn.

I always look to Cheryl Crow for advice and counsel for all things political.

Just as I always look to Hillary for all things of a musical nature.

I bet she would have loved it being shortened this year! Just imagine how much better it would have been for her candidate Hillary Clinton if the last 6 months of revelations from Wikileaks and Project Veritas could be erased.

On the one hand I get the point. On the other hand, having more time to see the candidates reveal their mettle is a definite benefit. Trump was not my first choice. Or second, third, or even fourth. I laughed when he announced his candidacy. I never thought he would make it very far at all. Meanwhile, I saw the other candidates fall one by one, many whom I really liked and had high hopes for. And unfortunately many greatly disappointed me as their character flaws or RINO tendencies were revealed or I realized that as much as I liked them, they were not ready for prime time. Trump, on the hand has revealed his mettle and I truly feel and have concluded that only he, out of the entire group of candidates, has any chance whatsoever of winning in a rigged race again the most corrupt politician our country has ever had.

Hillary has been running for president for 30 years. How can that be shortened without destroying the first amendment.

What should change is no state should have a primary or caucus before Independence day. Compress the primaries into July and August. Have the conventions in September.

But let the candidates campaign with free speech as long as they want.

Wouldn’t a shorter campaign cycle favor incumbents? For someone new to the political scene, it usually takes some time to build momentum. (Unless you already happen to be a reality TV star.)

Its approaching a point that it isn’t unthinkable to foresee that soon campaigns will last the 4 year length of a term.
