After two major, allegedly, cyber attacks targeted a little known internet infrastructure company, Dyn, earlier today disrupting access to dozens of websites on Friday, and preventing some users from accessing PayPal, Twitter and Spotify, moments ago the DNS service provider said that a third attack has been launched. From Reuters:
INTERNET DOMAIN NAME SERVICE PROVIDER DYN SAYS IT IS DEFENDING AGAINST A THIRD WAVE OF COMPLEX ATTACKS DYN SAYS ATTACK BEING WAGED FROM DEVICES INFECTED WITH MALWARE, COMING FROM TENS OF MILLIONS OF IP ADDRESSES AROUND GLOBE

Your appliances are trying to get you! easy to hack I guess.
“Here is the punchline: Homeland Security last week issued a warning about a powerful new approach for blocking access to websites - hackers infecting routers, printers, smart TVs and other connected devices with malware that turns them into “bot” armies that overwhelm website servers in distributed denial of service attacks.
So.... your smart doorbell may just be hiding the internet terminator that will collapse the internet and prevent you from accessing your electronic cash in the bank.”
Huh.....and here I thought I was neo-Luddite for resisting “the internet of things.”
Cyber Attack: Whats Happening Now & Where Is Julian Assange?
American internet users are pulling their hair out over an apparent cyber attack today. Just after 9 A.M., half of the country lost access to several websites, including:
Reddit
Twitter
PayPal
Wired
Yelp
Netflix
Amazon
Unidentified hackers unleashed a stream of what are known as distributed denial of service (DDoS) on servers owned by Dyn, which hosts many popular websites, including the above.
Speculation is rampant among internet users as to the cause and motive behind this hack.
Many believe it could be part of an attempt by the Democratic Party to prevent people from accessing information recently released by WikiLeaks.
Yesterday, WikiLeaks promised to release emails incriminating Democratic running mate Tim Kaine and DNC chair Donna Brazile.

And its also on continuously now after the “update”
Odd how I was reading about sandboxie my browser crashed.
@wikileaks Mr. Assange is still alive and WikiLeaks is still publishing. We ask supporters to stop taking down the US internet. You proved your point.

I just thought that my internet connected refrigerator was mad at my internet connected toaster when I could not get breakfast this morning, now I wonder if my internet connected appliances are part of the hack? Also what about dinner?
This sounds like a true life event like happened on Mr. Robot. The hackers wanted to occupy a Smart Home, so they turned all the Smart Devices against the homeowner and she fled in terror. We trade security for convenience all the time.
Does that statement seem odd?
Crap that is a serious attack.
I hope that red spot on the map in Texas is Austin. Houston has been good all day.
The machines have become self aware....
I have used Sandboxie for years. Great little program. Most of my daily internet browsing is done in Sandboxie.
Skynet becomes aware.
