For the fifth time since September, police have discovered the remains of a teenager in Brentwood, a community plagued by gang violence.
The body of Jose Pena-Hernandez, 18, of Brentwood, was found Monday in a wooded area at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, but police said the case was being investigated as a homicide.
Hernandez, who police say was a known gang member, was reported missing in June. Suffolk County police believe he was beaten to death.

I have a certain affection for Central America having lived there for 4 years while on Active Duty. Went on a mission trip to Hondo and Salvador ten years ago to orphanages and prisons. Folks here have no idea of what is coming. Children picked up and dumped in orphanages because there is just no place else to put them. They are grouped by age to protect them from each other. I am telling you, if you can walk into a prison for 5 year old boys and witness 500 of them with no one but a handful of feeders and herders to care for them and not have your heart be absolutely crushed you just do not deserve to belong to the human race. MS-13 and 18th street recruit them because they have no one else. Folks here have no idea.

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about.
I have to say, were it not for the politics and econonmy the one place in the world I would love to live is San Salvador. The weather is unbelievable, the beauty of the country. Amazing. The poverty, etc. just hopeless. You have to just wonder when you see it, why? I had some hope when I heard of the Nobel Laureate for economics from Peru (or Ecuador) who showed how they defeated El Sendero Luminoso that Central America could begin to pull into the First World but so far it just is not happening. I do believe that Latin Cultures can not see how The Mordida is a cancer that destroys everything. But then, who am I to talk. I live in a country where Hillary Clinton is running for president and there is some who think she not only should but can win.
However, they classified Hispanic murder victims as “Hispanic.”
Thus, when a Hispanic gang banger murdered another Hispanic gang banger, the official crime statistics said a “white” person murdered a Hispanic person.
That statistical policy is currently in a state of flux.
However, since many local Police departments also classify Hispanics as “white,” national murder statistics for white people are still not accurate.
I researched this subject several years ago.
Incredibly, the FBI and several criminology Professors claimed that white and Hispanic crime rates were so similar, it was a waste of time to separate them by ethnicity.
As I said, this policy is being slowly changed, but current statistics are still not accurate.
One other issue of note...
Statistically, the “number” of murderers is completely dependent on a charge of murder being filed by a prosecutor.
Left wing and anti-gun advocates, and the MSM, use that fact to deliberately deceive the public.
What they don't tell you is that the number of murder prosecutions is hugely different by race and ethnicity.
Just 20% of white murder victim cases are not solved.
40% of Hispanic victim cases are not solved.
60% of Black victim cases are not solved.
This fact artificially inflates the number of white murderers when compared to Black and Hispanic murderers.
No matter what the MSM claims, always remember that white people in America commit murder at just a slightly higher rate than white people in Northern Europe.
I was ahead of the times when I stated that the legislators MUST categorize MS 18 and 13 as domestic terrorists as a matter of national policy. Honduras under President Maduro almost won, then he chickened out. El Salvador has opened the topic and it is being debated the last time I heard.
The problem is the Obama administration and the liberals that have infiltrated the UN, OAS, and Amnesty International.
