As Donald Trump’s lewd remarks and insults have created a major divide in the political arena, the surprising support from evangelicals have surprised everyone. Pastor Franklin Graham took to his Facebook page Saturday to defend the evangelical leaders who have remained in Trumps corner.
“A lot of people are slamming evangelicals for supposedly giving Donald J. Trump a pass. Thats simply not true. No one is giving him a pass. Im certainly not, and Ive not met an evangelical yet who condones his language or inexcusable behavior from over a decade ago. However, he has apologized to his wife, his family, and to the American people for this. He has taken full responsibility. This election isnt about Donald Trumps behavior from 11 years ago or Hillary Clintons recent missing emails, lies, and false statements. This election is about the Supreme Court and the justices that the next president will nominate. Evangelicals are going to have to decide which candidate they trust to nominate men and women to the court who will defend the constitution and support religious freedoms. My prayer is that Christians will not be deceived by the liberal media about what is at stake for future generations.”
At a prayer rally in Raleigh, Graham told an assembled crowd of approximately 10,500 to hold your nose and vote.
You have to decide which one of the two (presidential candidates) that you would trust to appoint justices that are going to protect our religious freedom as Christians. Vote where you can for people that are going to support Biblical principles.
The future of the Supreme Court, and our country, is at stake in this election. IMHO, God is giving us one last chance to get it right.
..Franklin Graham is a wise and great man...
Just saw him minutes ago, on CNN, explaining why Trump is far better than Hillary because of SCOTUS nominations, which will determine fate of evangelicals for 3 or more decades. He did accede that both candidates are flawed.
He allows any comments on his facebook page with no censorship and they are brutal. I’m glad he leaves them published so people can see the true evil this country has become.
I pray that the good folks in Raleigh listen to his advice and support Donald Trump.
Rev, Graham is a great Christian and great American.
Somewhere in Dallas Tx, Glenn Beck is curled up sucking his thumb...
There is a choice to vote for a flawed but penitent sinner or an impenitent sinner, whose breath stinks with the lust for power and whose hands drip with the blood of God’s babies. Do not call yourself a Christian if you vote for the latter.
King David committed adultery with Bathsheba who got pregnant and had her husband sent to the front lines of battle to be killed so he could hide the truth of what happened. Trump is a piker compared to what King David did. A repentant heart does wonders. King David had his Samuel and Donald Trump has his Franklin Graham.
God used the most wicked nations to do his will, punishing his own people until the “reset” could occur.
I see Trump in this vein.
God Bless Rev. Franklin Graham.
And this peaceful revolution that Mr. Trump is leading will in time become violent.
i like the people trump has for him. i don’t like any of the people clinton has for her.
We have learned a lot about bullying this past year and the true nature of self-trumpeted 'liberals', who no longer have much real estate left to stand on when it comes to that subject.
I don't wish for the Trump Train to run them over, but I do hope it dusts their shoes as it speeds past leaving them behind.
Who is the one anointed for the task?
"common grace"
God's trumpet!!!
If SHE is elected we will have more unsustainable debt, more regulations and higher taxes to push corporations and jobs out of the United States, more welfare and entitlements for legals and illegals, more illegal immigrants and liberal Supreme Court justices. I can not understand why some think what Trump said years ago justifies this.
BTTT!
I respect Graham for taking this stand, and I am glad for those who need such support.
I do not. I have taken controversial stands in the past based upon the Word and against the increasing worldliness found in the so-called mainline denominations.
If I needed such approbation from others who call themselves Christians, then I would never have taken any such stands against great opposition, and with resulting great cost.
I make my own choices.
My choice - since the day he declared - is Trump.
