A 10-year-old special-needs boy was on life support after bullies allegedly lured him to a field, doused him with gasoline, and lit him on fire on Sunday.
Kayden Culp of Kerrville, Texas, has burns on 20 percent of his body from his ears to his belly button, and his organs are failing, according to a YouCaring page set up by the boy

A boy in my class was severely burned when I was a kid, playing around with a can of gas and fire. Unrecognizable when he finally returned to school, skin grafts all over his face and parts of his scalp, as well as arms and upper torso. The kids were afraid of him, he went from a friendly, well-liked kid to angry and remained that way. Pity.
And fatherless.
My oldest grandson is high functioning autistic. When he comes to my new home, alot of the kids he goes to school with I just don’t trust live here. Makes me nervous and I insist on knowing who he is with and where they live. He has to check in every few hours.
This is so very heart breaking.
Exceptionally cruel.
That IS a different take for sure.
Again, read the story presented at the link. No one was saying what you are alleging.
I’ll stop before I write something really, really bad that shows zero social justice.
“Unlike the Post headline, this doesn’t sound malicious.”
In any headline, intentionally setting someone on fire is malicious.
Men have forgotten God.
When life is considered cheap and we don’t respect the dignity of human beings this will happen more and more.
From the local news article, it looks like the four boys were burning down a shed, and one of them was accidentally splashed with gasoline, which lit. If that’s accurate (which no poster has any way of knowing), then it’s a case of Tragically Stupid.
Wow. Talk about a misleading headline! Correction. They lied, pure and simple.
playing in a field ... doused him with gasoline ... floor of a shed.
= = =
Where did he get it? That takes some premeditation.
Maybe gas in a can in the shed, in a field.
Then we talk about lighters.
This is not being stupid.
As I said....Read the article in Post #5, then come back to the thread.
They see it on TV, and they see how it causes people to pay attention.
It’s the “celebrity” garbage: do something to get noticed.
As I said....read the article in Post #5, and come back to the thread.
If the little monsters are less than 15, they’ll be tried as juveniles. They can be kept in TYC (juvie) until 18 and they get a clean slate. Likely at the state school in Brownwood, TX. It’s highly doubtful they’d get a cushy placement like a halfway house or a wilderness camp.
Older teens can be kept at TYC until 19 and then transferred to adult prison. The baddies who aren’t bad enough for prison may have the option to join the military.
yup. I’m not sure that I approached this level of stupidity (throwing gas onto a fire!?) but I’m sure that I did things that were equally dumb.
I use diesel to aid in the creation of fires. I will pour it in an old cup and use that to throw on the fire. Even though diesel is pretty safe compared to gasoline, I try to be safe.
One day I picked up my full 2 gallon container of diesel and was kind of in a hurry and just poured a bit on the fire. Unfortunately, this ONE time I had accidentally picked up a gasoline container. Yes, they are different, on purpose, but still.
Needless to say, the flames engulfed the spout and I heaved that thing as far as I could, expecting an explosion. All that happened was that it burned up. Since it was full, there was not enough evaporated gas to explode.
But still, it was harrowing. I no longer take that stuff for granted. I pour into the cup and can always see and smell what it is before I use it. And if I’d done that this time, even if I’d thrown the gas on the fire it would just have been a big “FOOP” before it caught.
Gasoline is ridiculously dangerous stuff.
