Hurricane Matthew is big, bad and just downright scary, with iminent and sustained impacts to U.S. mainland. Florida Governor Rick Scott issued a state of emergency for all of Florida and disaster operations are activated. More than 1.5 million Floridians reside in current evacuation zones. Governor Scott has spoken with utilities across the state to ensure utilities are pre-positioned and there are no unmet needs. Multiple coastal hospitals have been evacuated. Meanwhile, feckless President Barack Hussein Obama is personally monitoring the progress of the storm.

I agree, we are blessed to have a good man at the helm for days like these.
He’s one of the worst—correct. He makes crap up/exaggerates as he goes. I’ve no respect for him. But he joins the multitude of ‘journalists’ who are in that category.
Wow talk about impressive!Really brings it out great radar post,I’m still referring to your last post in the mid 200’s,great stuff.thanks.
Is that in the low 27’s?
An F0 or F1 is plenty dangerous! Been close to several and family horse operation damaged by one. It’s just that the damage is very local and mostly cleaned up in a few days.
Starts getting into strong F2 to F3 (and there are plenty of those), and it will probably rate some mention on national news and there will likely be injuries or worse.
3mb lower than the last reading. The 27.number you posted was for the 939 reading.
So, still lowering.
If Shep didn’t have a good radio voice he would be history,he should be anyway.
That sounds like Bastardi’s guess of Jupiter is wrong...Vero?
No question! He gave a 20 minute presentation a few weeks ago here in the Keys and we gave him a standing “O” it was so good.
Pretty much lost respect for him for his "reporting" during Katrina.
I hope they’re all wrong and it stays 75m offshore till it recurves East.
We’ll see though, I’m an optimist.
Prayers, that is the most difficult IMHO: family that won’t listen to reason. Painful.
Thanks. Doing fine out in hot, sunny SE NM!
Recon found concentric eyewalls.
Wow! Chccking the buoys Fowey Light off Miami as of 3:00 pm Eastern showed 29 knot winds with gusts to 32, baro of 29.54.
Settlement Point in the Bahamas maybe 50 mile east of West Palm shows sustained of 42 knots gusts of 48 and a baro of 29.42
Did you move up there or are you still in WH?
@CityOfJax on twitter has been great with information. Mayor ordered beaches to evac yesterday. Lots of people think they can handle the surge I guess. Today they expanded evac zones to include neighborhoods near small waterways coming off the river because the storm surge is going up the river and then gonna fill these estuaries, creeks etc. some zones are very close to my house, only a minute drive so it’s a pretty big reality check. We are boarding up and staying. 7 miles from ocean but we aren’t in a flood zone. We have a wildlife preserve i.e. Swamp behind our back yard which is the east side of the house. Loads of pine trees so that is probably my big concern since the ground is soaked from the nor’easter.

LOl great place to be right now bud!
I meant to add that today the mayor and sheriff told the evac zone people if you stay you may die. We aren’t going to be able to cross intracoastal bridge and we are t sending our people out when it isn’t safe. It’s taking people an hour to two to get out of town on the roads so hopefully they heeded the warning.
