Former Mexican President Vicente Fox on Tuesday slammed Donald Trump's performance in the first presidential debate and warned that the GOP nominee's behavior should alarm world leaders.
"We think hes a danger. Hes a threat to the world," Fox, who watched the debate on Mexican television, told
The Washington Post.
"My impression was the beauty and the beast," he said.
"Hillary Clinton was gracious ... and he was very clumsy and poor in his presentation....She really looked like a statesman, and he looked very poor."
Fox pointed specifically to an exchange between Clinton and Trump about the GOP nominee's past treatment of women, specifically Alicia Machado a former Miss Universe beauty pageant winner from Venezuela whom Trump criticized for gaining weight.
"He was very aggressive and offensive to her, like he's been with everybody," Fox said.
"I think it was great of Hillary to present that one case, but [Machado] represents many other cases of how he has spoken about women, how he has spoken about we Mexicans."
Fox said he "absolutely" thinks Trump came across as bigoted and bullying during the debate.
Fox has slammed the Republican nominee, who has called for a wall along the southern border of the U.S., in the past. In advance of the GOP nominee's visit to Mexico, the two exchanged shots on Twitter, with Fox calling on Trump to "show some respect."
Oh indeed.....wouldn’t know a real leader if he bumped into one
“Former Mexican President Vicente Fox”
Former, Vince, former ...
Yo Vicente, how many presidents does your country have at any one time?
I think the word you want to use as the end or your sentence is “pendejo.”
looked it up. thanks.
It is a darned useful word.
Mr. Fox, go F yourself! You are a Mexican elite who doesn’t give a F about your citizens. Why not spend your pesos to help your citizens. I know why, you only want elite in Mexico.
Exactly .. and if FOX doesn’t like Trump .. THAT’S A REALLY GOOD SIGN.
The Fox is getting worried.
The Mexican elite sit in Mexico City and rather than spend money on their poor and indigenous, they print pamphlets to hand to their poor on how to get to America. Fox is angry because we’re insisting Mexico take care of their own poor instead of exporting them and then exploiting them for ‘remittances’ that are taxed by Mexico.
