Those who are satisfied with business as usual will say Hillary won.
Those who want higher taxes and bigger government will say Hillary.
Those who think the Iran Nuke deal is a good deal will say Hillary.
Those who think trade deals like NAFTA and TPP are great for America will say Hillary.
Those who think inner city blacks and minorities have been treated great by the democrats and their socialist policies will say Hillary.
Those who think Hillary will appoint great judges will say she won.
Those who think Hillary can securely safeguard our nation's classified information and will secure our borders and our nation will say she won.
Those who think we need a complete turnover and want to prevent our nation from spiraling down the drain know that Trump won and must win the coming election.
Holt made a mockery of this debate and did his job (being biased) well. Trump had to defend himself against TWO when it should have been just Hitlery. And to augment his biased questioning he interrupted Trump numerous times to keep Trump from answering (biased) questions instead of debating Clinton. Holt will get a big raise from someone.
Seriously?
He did not hammer the issues that Jim listed. That’s what needs to be done to win. Not argue irrelevant points like his damn taxes or whether or not he said we should go into Iraq before he said we shouldn’t. Good grief.
And who says that Donald won’t do that?
Donald stuck around for media interviews. Donald has material for a lot of commercials.
“I dont think Trump convinced even a single Clinton supporter to vote for him. “
Were you drinking? That’s not happening!
Perhaps tonight was not the time to show all his cards?
Still he did well in a 2 to 1 fight. He was more disciplined than I would have been in her presence.
There’s a being angry without sin.
If one looks around calmly, one may notice that God has opened up more doors than the haste driven soul may notice.
God answers in wrath the persistently wicked who refuse to repent, but He does it in His good time, not letting the devil rush His agenda. People are impatient; God isn’t.
Quite often, the slow measured anger gets a lot more done than the flash of rage.
Trump neatly dodged the “woman is the victim” card that buried Lazio.
Two words to come to mind in describing Hillary: Kim Campbell.
And Trump is like Jean Jacques Chretien, the aw-shucks boy with a slow speech from Shawinigan.
For those who care, Canada’s Kim Campbell, the country’s first and only woman Prime Minister, was buried in the Liberal landslide in 1993 that cost her party all but two seats in Parliament.
She also lost her own seat.
Well he certainly passed on most opportunities tonight when he had the biggest audience he will have.
Hope you are right.
The 2nd lost to the watch list.
It was buried in the long debate thread.
of course you’re right.
the flash of rage in boxing gets you knocked out early
Most of us have known for over a year that Trump was the last great hope at electing someone who would bring back traditional America. If Hillary wins, it’s over. This will be a different country after 4 or 8 years more of Obama 2.0.
Those who feel Trump screwed up tonight don’t get it. This is exactly the man we want in the White House. The more anyone disagrees with this statement, the more they would prefer to have had Mitt Romney or Jeb! running instead of Trump.
That said, I don’t think this debate will be very influential either way. If people are truly “undecided” after everything that has come out about Hillary, then they are probably beyond hope.
Hey, that's an insult to bats. Clinton is more like Dracula. She melts in the sun and comes alive at night.
I agree with what you say that the debate doesn’t matter and the choice couldn’t be clearer. Trump did well, and Hillary did way better than I expected, but a practiced liar can do that.
My livefeed kept cutting out, so I don’t know for sure, but it was extremely disappointing that when Hillary was going after Trump for everything under the sun, he was too restrained. Only vague mention of her presiding over the Arab Spring, destabilizing sovereign countries, and no mention of American deaths in Benghazi as far as I heard (correct me if I missed that).
Talking about the immunity given to her staff was good, but nothing about how her own behavior that led to hacking by anyone who knows how to do it into her unsecured server doing State Dept. business...not to mention the pay-for-play evidence throughout her tenure as SOS.
Nothing about the Clinton Foundation when she went after him over his probable lack of charitable giving shown in his tax returns. She donates a lot, and it all goes to the uncharitable Clinton Foundation and murderous Planned Parenthood. Trump said he wanted to be nice and not go after her and her family (meaning the Foundation?) - I think he should have done it.
Good point at the end that while she has spent $100+ million to defame him with lies, he is still winning or even in most the states spending little money. He shows up and she stays home to rest.
On the issues, Trump won. On getting out all the zingers, HRC won. Anyone who would vote for her because of that is clueless.
People who don’t bother to listen to the fuller statements of candidates probably will have that sort of communcation wasted upon them anyhow.
What matters more than the heat of 90 minutes is the after-game.
Thank you for answering!
He has two more debates to go, he has his footing under him, he knows what lies she told and so do all of us...
All she was there to do in the first fifteen minutes was to sell her worthless book...
I am mighty proud of Trump, a person who is NOT a ‘polished politician’ for 40 years and have done nothing but lie, make a mess of the Middle East and ruin our Nation's reputation...so I say Trump won this debate...
TRUMP WON TONIGHT!!! AMERICA WINS ANOTHER ROUND!!!
..this was her best shot Jim, and it was pathetic—even with Holt’s help...
I tend to agree with your perspective. Clinton got under Trump’s skin and he came across as unpolished, defensive and somewhat arrogant.
That said, Clinton came across as incredibly smug. The image of her smirking, smiling and laughing was a horrible one. Truly horrible!
If this was a boxing match, she would win on points because her offense was better than his defense. She mostly ignored his offense, like a polished politician.
However, this is not a boxing match nor a POTUS race that we have seen before. A true outsider is running. If people want change, they will find Trump’s lack of polish refreshing. If they want the same old, same old, they will fall for Clinton’s typical politician performance.
