Independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin on Sunday labeled Republican nominee Donald Trump a racist, calling for more people to "come out and say that cleanly."

"Donald Trump is a racist," McMullin said in an interview at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin. "Trump is a racist brand. We need to call a spade a spade, and any American leader needs to stand up for equality in this country."

If anybody is going to attack Donald Trump with anything legitimate, then it should be on how Donald Trump has a pro-leftist record on the majority of issues but campaigns as a 100% conservative, on all of the issues. Also, why did Donald Trump meet with the Clintons, prior to, officially, running for ‘16 POTUS?

Based on what, Evan? Now, he has some supporters who are racists — that’s true — but they’re his supporters. Can you hold a candidate accountable for all his supporters? I’m sure there are some unsavory people who are McMullin supporters. Does that make McMullin a racist?

To raise concerns about the alt-right and about the likes of David Duke is appropriate - but you can’t hold Trump responsible for them unless he invites them into the tent. Has he?
