Before Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton debate each other Monday, Clinton’s podium needed some adjustments.
Trump is a towering 6’2″ and Clinton is only 5’4″. To even the height field, Clinton’s podium now has plywood placed in the middle, according to WABC Radio Host Rita Cosby. The WABC journalist gained exclusive access to the podiums, which not only show Clinton’s is now a bit larger than Trump’s, but that there is also a small box Clinton might stand on.

The larger podium is for Trump, to make the height difference less apparent.
Clinton had asked for a stool/box to stand on, but that was denied.

That is one of the most obviously CONTORTED statements I have ever heard. Plywood in it. Do they mean EXTRA plywood ?
Notice the wires hanging out of the one on the right. Notice that the one on the right is not only taller, but wider. Notice that bright yellow area over half way down. The one on the right is much bigger. What is that ?
Will they be required to stay behind their podiums? What happens if Trump, who likes to walk around, walks over?
There is no 'plywood' in either of those lecterns. They appear to be made of particle board with hardwood top.

Yes, they do. If you look at the picture, both podiums have plywood in them. One has more.
Also, look at the closeup. The podium is DESIGNED to be adjustable in height. A spacer is put into the place where you see the light-colored plywood, to raise the top of the podium to the correct height.
The yellow spacer is indeterminate composition, at least from what I can see. But, I think that's what the reporter calls "plywood".
It all depends on which body double they are using.
He should consult with Rick Lazio before doing that.
