His numbers didn’t slide in CO. Different polls have different methodologies. There will always be a range of results among different polls. The relevant thing is that Trump went up 6% since the last Quinnipiac CO poll. That’s a great improvement within the same poll. The other poll (Emerson) was probably just an outlier that was temporarily inflated by Hillary’s 9/11 collapse. I thought that at the time.

The remarkable thing is that Trump went from double digits down in some polls to being within the margin of error—and he’s only made 4 speeches/appearances in CO this whole election cycle (including the primaries). If he’d really push to win CO (more visits from him and Pence, an ad blitz, and building up a very solid ground game), he’d win it and it could be the state that puts him over the top.

I don’t know, the NoVa vote gets bigger every year. Millions of more bureaucrats and contractors and lobbyists and hangers-on. There’s a lot of migration to NoVa also, especially the exurbs, from both Central America and Asia. Asians are trending more Democrat than they used to.

“PARTY IDENTIFICATION
Republican 30%
Democrat 31
Independent 30
Other/DK/NA 8”

8% are other, DK or NA?

First, how is NA possible? Isn’t that the definition of independent?

Second, Other - that’s saying some of the 8% of people who took the time to answer a poll are either Communists or Green Party. Extremely unlikely that they’re Tea Party types.

Last, who the hell doesn’t know? Seriously? Those should be Independent too.

Virginia is completely corrupt.

McAuliffe is fighting for violent felons to vote.

Probably multiple times.

1 out of 4 votes in Virginia come from where I am at, which is Northern Virginia. The rest of the state is conservative (as a whole), but where I am at, there is a heavy presence of government workers and foreigners. About 35% of Fairfax County is foreign born - tons of Indians, who vote heavily democratic. In fact, there are so many Indians, movie theaters show Indian movies. There is one movie theater in Loudoun county - often half the movie screens are showing Indian movies.

It's a shame, since one would think Indians would be the perfect group to vote conservative for lots of reasons, but they don't. The Washington Post reports they vote democrat because they perceive the republicans of being racists.

The rule of thumb is the republican needs to get at least 40% of the vote in Fairfax County to win the state. However, Cuccinelli won 40% of the Fairfax vote and lost by 10,000 votes statewide, so perhaps, Trump will need a bit more than 40%. Also, Trump came in third in the republican primary in N Virgnia, but he has made a number of appearances in the county next to here. We will find out soon enough.

Wasn’t Monmouth the one that polled something like 40% with Grad+ degrees?

I used to work at Monmouth U back in the late 1990’s. Things can change but it was the definitely the rump end of academia at that time

We gotta have Virginia. It’s the problem this time. I don’t get it come on Virginia.

We don't HAVE to have VA, but it is one path to winning. As it stands, if Trump wins the states he's ahead in the polling in, he's still one state short. He wins if he flips one of the following: New Hampshire, New Mexico, Colorado, Virginia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, or Michigan. PA is the hardest one followed by Virginia, but they're all within striking distance.

It is possible he could flip the rest of Maine, which would result in a 269 to 269 tie and throw the election to the House. I think this would be a disaster, personally, but it is a possible scenario.

Come on, Virginia. Get your heads out of yours asses in the Old Dominion.

Too late. They are hooked onto the Government's teat.
