Donald Trump cut Hillary Clinton's lead in half in the key battleground state of Virginia, but still trails by 7 points, according to the latest Roanoke College Poll.
The results of likely voters in Virginia:
Clinton: 44 percent Trump: 37 percent Gary Johnson: 8 percent Jill Stein: 1 percent Undecided: 9 percent In the August survey by Roanoke College, Clinton was leading Trump by 16 points. However, Trump ate into Clinton's hold on Independents, turning an 18-point lead last month into just an 8-point deficit in Thursday's poll, 37 percent to 29 percent.
The Roanoke College Poll interviewed 841 likely voters in Virginia from Sept. 11-20 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percent.

Doubt Trump will get VA. NoVA will give Hillary all the votes she needs to win.
You got a good take on things.
Obama only won VA by 150,000 votes!!!!! If TRUMP just flips 75,000 then it’s a TIE!!!!
VA is very winnable!!!!
Yes, but when HASN'T that been the case?

Hillary Clinton, Terry McAuliffe, and Tim Kaine thought that they had Virginia in the bag. This state is within the margin of error which means we need to make sure we get our voters to the polls.
Come WALK and TALK for Trump on Saturday and automatically be entered to meet Donald Trump the next time he is in Virginia.
Saturday is the Trump Campaigns NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION. Mr. Trump needs you to get involved. There is simply too much at stake to sit on the sidelines.

“Not this time we are watching voter fraud very very closely. I am one of the GOP Gestapo in dealing with it.”
I’d like to hear more about that.
Before W. was President.
Kaine and The Punk (McAuliffe) were specifically set up to ensure Hillary's victory in Virginia.
Things ain't working out. The Punk's effort to create 200,000 new DemocRAT felon voters hit a wall (he could only muster about 13,000), and people are finding Governor Eyebrow (Kaine) downright creepy.
With leaners, the sampling was 49 D, 39 R, 12 I.
Virginia has not moved nearly that far into blue-state status... yet.
The calculus is that more black riots against police or ginned up racism in general will unite the black vote for Hillary and turn out all of the Leftist mush brained voters, particularly the Bernie supporters.
The black vote in Richmond and Norfolk won’t be 99-percent Democrat this time. I think you can anticipate at least 20-percent shifting over to Trump. NOVA is a different kind of situation....and locked into place with the Democrats for the next hundred years.
So the black/Bernie vote is doubled while the backlash vote quadruples. Can’t see them winning with that formula.
I don’t want to sound naive, but how do they help Hillary or hurt Trump?

I agree, and what Trump should do going forward is to convey an entirely economic prosperity message to all demographics in Virginia. It worked wonders for Bob McDonnell in 2009, just one year after Obama won here. Whether addressing blacks, Hispanics, audiences in NOVA or in Tidewater, McDonnell stayed on-message with an economic growth and jobs message. He won by 18%.
I was D+3 last election in 2012. So typically “narrative” and optics from the RATS to make it appear close.
The people who count the votes decide where the votes go.
If 20% show up to vote and 5% of them go to Trump but 60% get reported and 100% of the new 40% went for the Democrat, there you go.
Well, last night I convinced one apolital person in Virginia, whom I’ve only known for a couple of months and who probably wasn’t even going to vote, to vote for Trump.
