Donald Trump cut Hillary Clinton's lead in half in the key battleground state of Virginia, but still trails by 7 points, according to the latest Roanoke College Poll.
The results of likely voters in Virginia:
Clinton: 44 percent Trump: 37 percent Gary Johnson: 8 percent Jill Stein: 1 percent Undecided: 9 percent In the August survey by Roanoke College, Clinton was leading Trump by 16 points. However, Trump ate into Clinton's hold on Independents, turning an 18-point lead last month into just an 8-point deficit in Thursday's poll, 37 percent to 29 percent.
The Roanoke College Poll interviewed 841 likely voters in Virginia from Sept. 11-20 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percent.

If Trump closes the gap or goes ahead in these swing states, I think there will be more riots. They will be planned and executed by SJW types with the aid of George Soros funded groups and tacit support of the Hillary campaign.
What happened to VA? The same thing thing that the dems are going to do to the rest of the US. Move in an arse load of government dependents to overwhelm the makers.
where do they get these polls? I seriously doubt Clinton ever led Virginia by 14 points.
Which state do you suppose takes in more than their share of immigrants? I can go four blocks from my house and need a visa. English is not spoken, and there is no conservative outreach to speak of for that demographic.
Gov. Mcauliffe will not let Hillary lose VA. He will dig up the dead voters himself and personally sign felons’ absentee ballots to avoid that. Can Trump get enough voters out in the battleground states to overcome the vote fraud by Dem pols and Soros? It will take ten of thousands of new voters to do that.
Not this time we are watching voter fraud very very closely. I am one of the GOP Gestapo in dealing with it.
I read through the posting of stylin19a and the first poll answers. I have a new track in mind for the voters. They need education rather than instruction. They have no idea what they are making decisions on in these polls.

If Trump takes VA>.. he’s going to take a LOT of other states that she has been up by 15 or 20 in polls...
VA is a state that by all reasonable analysis should stay Clinton... the NOVA region is completely dependent on the corrupt system that is in place in DC.. so folks there will vote for their wallet/pocket book and show up to vote Clinton even if they have no innate support or love for her... they will be motivated to show up and vote for her just to protect the suckling off the tit that keeps them fat and happy.
IF, she can’t hold VA, where so much of the population of the state has a direct self interest in her victory, she won’t hold much of anything....
VA Falls, probably isn’t a state on the map that is fundamentally safe for her.
Concur; she is probably up by 2-3 points; Trump can win VA if he consolidates GOP women and Independent conservatives with no more errors.

Yes, I’m aware and they’ll prolly be using dem +20 in all the polls by the time we get November lol
We were invaded by northeastern liberals and illegal aliens from south of the border.
I disagree with those that say that Virginia should be written off and is permanently blue. Yes, Northern Virginia is going to vote their interests and will come out strong for Hillary. The thing is, there are a lot of people in the western, southwestern, and southside part of the state that are going to come out for Trump in much higher numbers than for McCain and Romney.
The other factor to consider is African-American turnout. I lived in the City of Richmond in 2008 and 2012, and the turnout with Obama on the ballot was astronomical. Hillary is not going to get that kind of turnout, nor is she going to get the same percentage of that turnout this time. In addition, millenials are mostly going to stay home.
Virginia is winnable.
Hill shill Johnson is serving his purpose
2. It's a telephone poll -- it is becoming more socially acceptable to admit support for Trump now than it was just 1 month ago.
Lots of them in NOVA but they are becoming very divided.
Along with the government check cashers and the Beltway Bandits in the Northern Virginia area, in the Valley and on down to the tip, there are vast swaths of welfare recipients. Basically, nice people but they have done the math and realize they can lay in the hammock and get hand-outs for the same amount (or more) dough than they would get by working a labor job. Don’t count on personal pride to lift up the masses, anymore.
Being adjacent to D.C. has to be an infectious environment.
This poll is truly curious.
Weighting was done to match the demographic groups’ representation in the 2012 Virginia exit poll.
In other words, the actual weighting of the poll was based on Obama’s campaign in 2012.
Next, in the data section, we discover that fully 51% of the respondents had a college degree (BA) or higher. Of those fully 23% had an advanced degree beyond a BA.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_educational_attainment
The truth is, though, that only 34% of Virginians have at least a BA and that only 14% have a graduate degree.
One wonders exactly who was calling where when making phone calls?
Question 8a calls into question the competence of those administering the poll: The question about Romney reported results for McCain. That’s pretty shoddy work.
8. a. [IF YES] Do you recall if you voted for Barack Obama or Mitt Romney for President in 2012 or did you vote for someone else?
Obama 55%
McCain 39%
Someone else 4%
Dont recall/Refused 3%
