Donald Trump cut Hillary Clinton's lead in half in the key battleground state of Virginia, but still trails by 7 points, according to the latest Roanoke College Poll.
The results of likely voters in Virginia:
Clinton: 44 percent Trump: 37 percent Gary Johnson: 8 percent Jill Stein: 1 percent Undecided: 9 percent In the August survey by Roanoke College, Clinton was leading Trump by 16 points. However, Trump ate into Clinton's hold on Independents, turning an 18-point lead last month into just an 8-point deficit in Thursday's poll, 37 percent to 29 percent.
The Roanoke College Poll interviewed 841 likely voters in Virginia from Sept. 11-20 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percent.

the poll is still worthless without the internals. 841 likely voters tells us nothing.
Looking forward to the debates.
A week after the 2nd debate....it’ll be even and Trump’s election from that point on. A loss in Virginia for Hillary really spells the end of her efforts. It’s one of the states that she has to win.
7 points now is like being behind 35-10 starting the 4th Q.
Didn’t Kaine ensure Mrs. Bill victory in VA?
Liberal colleges tend to skew heavily DEM.
Yes, so many in northern VA and MD prefer Mrs. Bill, and we can’t reach them.
Kaine would never have won if the election had been one week postponed. His numbers were dropping like a rock and he got in just in time.
He was so rotten and all of his contacts were rotten.
We have a few other polls with it tied at 38-38. Roanoke leans left.

And Fed employees.
From the internals:
D 36
R 29
I 22
Other 5
Refused 7
Hard to see a credible poll in 2016, in Virginia, as D+7
you’ll have to do the math for numbers. This poll’s internals and crosstabs are all percentages.

I agree, but I must ask: What the hell happened to Virginia?
Sadly, that is true. Which is one reason I gladly left the DC area. It is Beltway Bandit Central.
With Richmond, Norfolk and Nova solid locks for the Democrat, it will be hard to beat the Democrat in Virginia. The system is so heavily gamed for them. McAuliffe was losing all night until 80% of the vote tallied and he just blew by the Republican in the last 20%.
That fix is in. They see what the need and then here it comes in.
What is this BS?
Wasn’t there a poll from the most respected pollster that had VA pretty much dead even? Down 7? WTF??!!
