Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Wednesday that he was troubled by the controversial shooting of Terence Crutcher, 40, by Tulsa police officer Betty Shelby last Friday because he looked like he did "everything he was supposed to do" but was killed anyway.
"I must tell you I watched the shooting in particular in Tulsa and that man was hands up. That man went to the car, hands up, put his hands on the car, I mean to me it looked like he did everything he was supposed to do," said Trump in remarks at a town hall style event addressing African-American issues in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
"And he looked like a really good man and maybe I'm a little clouded because I saw his family talking about him after the fact, so you get a little bit different image maybe. But to me he looked like somebody who was doing what they were asking him to do and this young officer I don't know what she was thinking. I don't know what she was thinking but I am very, very troubled by that," said Trump to applause.
Trump's comments came after he was asked by Rev. Darrell Scott, CEO of the National Diversity Coalition for Trump and pastor of the New Spirit Revival Center church in Cleveland Heights where the town hall was held, to comment on the "recent shootings of unarmed black men by the police."

Looks to me that several LOEs surrounded the guy and shot him?
What an I missing?
No. In a situation like this a response is required. However, unlike BO’s comment a few years back: “the cop acted stupidly”, Trump simply gave his impression of the video and in so doing played this just about as well as he could.
Actually, I don't think he passed judgement but was sharing his processing of the information so far and his reaction.
He said he was troubled by what he saw on the video because it looked like the guy had his hands up and cooperated. He also pointed out he had not seen everything but was approaching it from the angle of someone who saw the grieving family and that video.
I am not aware that he has made any definitive assertions about the guilt of the particular police officer. The closest he got was saying it looked very troubling. And I get the impression he is keeping an open mind for new evidence that may come in for this particular case. This seems a stark contrast to the evidence immune approach of the false story in Ferguson that the cop haters took.
They need better non-lethal alternatives to deal with these types of situations by put they still need the gun if the other guy does draw down on them. It doesn’t take but a split sec for that bullet to rip through your skin on the unprotected regions.
The Video is out. It was an obvious bad shoot.
Like it or not it is a big issue in the Black Community and he addressed it to the Black Audience in attendance.
He isn’t dissing the Police. This is a single incident. The Police Officer was either not trained properly or she just screwed up and panicked.
Being real, and believing our own eyes on what we see in front of us is *never” a mistake.
Trump playing games with the obvious on the video in a black church is something only a con man would do.
TRUMP has never been shown to be a con man, and this is why he is winning.
Yep. He could still have his hands on the vehicle and have an LCP or Bodyguard in his pocket and make a move to pull it out and draw it especially if they're hopped up on PCP or meth....people who haven't had to deal with druggies don't understand how unpredictable they are.

Well, perhaps. But the ONLY video that I’ve seen is from a helicopter. I’m reserving judgement until the video (and sound) from the police car cams and, if they have them, the individual officer body cams until I come to a final conclusion.
But, I agree, it appears that it may well be a bad shoot.
There were multiple other officers with her. I could see being more twitchy if she was alone. Something was up with him tho. Leaving a running vehicle in the middle of the road saying “it’s going to blow” is definitely strange and suspect. But, being suspect is never a reason to get shot, tased, or even arrested. So, details on what took place after his arms were up is paramount.
I’d like to know a couple of things, that hopefully will be revealed.
1. Did he ever drop his arms - to give reason to believe he was reaching for a weapon?
2. Did he fall after being tasered? Did the taser have any effect on him?
How is Trump supposed to not comment? Did you read why he had to?
Per the article:
Trump’s comments came after he was asked by Rev. Darrell Scott, CEO of the National Diversity Coalition for Trump and pastor of the New Spirit Revival Center church in Cleveland Heights where the town hall was held, to comment on the “recent shootings of unarmed black men by the police.”
This is precisely why Trump is skyrocketing in every poll. He absolutely calls it like he sees it. Endorsements, political allegiances, etc. be damned.
It promotes the theory that he a straight shooter who tells it like it is, regardless of what anyone who supports him or donates to his campaign thinks about it and it’s why people are flocking to him in droves.
The video is pretty clear as to what happened.
Did you see Ann Coulter’s recent tweet? The stats say when police departments increase their ranks of female officers by 1%, police shootings go up 2.7%. Shocking stat indeed.
I’m going to wait to hear MORE info from ALL involved.
Thank you for that vital piece of info.
Once again , you are the voice of reason.
Agree.
Trump calls it as he sees it. This kind of honesty is going to take a while for some to get used to, but it’s how everyone talked before this PC silliness took over.
Is this on Hannity tonight? I’ve been watching Trump’s speech at Cleveland church.. WOW!!!.. Does anyone know?
