West Long Branch, NJ - Hillary Clinton holds a 5 point lead over Donald Trump in the crucial swing state of Florida. This is slightly less than the 9 point lead she held in a Monmouth University Poll of Sunshine State voters taken last month. Sen. Marco Rubio is currently locked in a tight race with his Democratic challenger Patrick Murphy, ahead by a statistically insignificant 2 points after leading by 5 in August. The poll also found that voters are skeptical of Trump's recent attempt to draw a line under the Pres. Obama birther controversy.
Among Florida voters likely to participate in November's presidential election, 46% currently support Clinton and 41% back Trump. Another 6% intend to vote for Libertarian Gary Johnson and 1% support Green Party candidate Jill Stein, with 5% who are undecided. This compares to Monmouth's August poll which had Clinton at 48%, Trump 39%, Johnson 6%, and Stein 1%.

quite right matching apples to apples.
I don’t like that it knocked the RCP “no toss ups” map over into clinton territory.
but hopefully a few pro Trump polls will come out soon. i do believe he is winning Florida
To: ConservativeDude
Makes you wonder if that's the SOLE reason for publishing this crap... Trump pulls to less than 1% nationally, then the bogus ONLINE SurveyMonkey poll comes out showing her over 5.
All of the media outlets quote the RCP averages, unfortunately

They are matching 2012 exit polls.
Female +8%
4 year College Degree - 50%
Trump has a huge lead among men, and Hillary has the lead among women, but Trump voters a MUCH more enthusiastic.
The demographics are going to be much different than 2012, but by matching the exit polls they skew the sample to favor Hillary.
I also find it hard to believe that 50% of those who voted in Florida in 2012 had 4 year degrees (or more). People have a tendency to embellish during face to face interviews, so that too is skewing the sample towards Hillary.
The polls really don't matter now, this election is all about the debates. Hillary's voters are locked in, and she really isn't going to capture more, everything about this elections is whether the people who hate Hillary, but don't know if they can vote for Trump, will be convinced. The debates will convince these people one way of the other.

Here is what I know. There is a 98% chance that Trump wins now and this race is over.
I would love for you to be right, but how do you know that?

Trump wins Florida by at least ten points. Rubio also wins with ease and keeps his Senate seat!!! Clinton pollsters & media trying to pump up HRC before the first POTUS debate. Fact is: Hillary Clinton is right now absent without leave and, no honest, explanation is forthcoming. Only God knows where the “Crooked, Criminal is, these days.
She is certainly not out there campaigning for votes....she cannot arouse any crowds to her boring rallies!!!

The Democrats stole our country with illegals. Let’s get realistic. They can win with a sick corrupt candidate. Let’s hope and work hard.

Trump will get 3 out of ME and will take NC. No way a state Romney won is going to go blue.

I’ve stopped believing any of these so called “polls”. They are all over the place. I think it just depends on who is doing the polling when it comes to whether Trump or Clintoon is leading.

So the “news” (aka spin) is that Clinton “maintains lead” instead of, oh I don’t know, a more accurate headline like “Clinton loses 4 points in a month” or “Trump gains on Clinton in latest poll”.
No it’s “Clinton maintains lead” as the headline, for those who only read the headline and the first few lines of an article, to give the mistaken impression that nothing has changed in Florida, and Clinton is cruising to victory. The careful reader will note also that the gains Rubio’s challenger enjoys this month were pointed out as the “race tightening” for that competition. But heaven forbid that, at least, the same phrase (”race tightens”) be used to describe the Clinton/Trump match-up.
Classic pro-Dem spin.
FUM!
