“Mr. Trump emphasized to President el-Sisi his high regard for peace-loving Muslims and understands that every day there are people of goodwill that sacrifice their lives and fortunes to combat the growing threat of radical Islamic terrorism.”

Trump also reportedly said that if he wins in November, the Egyptian president can expect an invitation for an official visit to the US.

Top advisers Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) and retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn joined the mogul for his bilateral meeting.

In Egypt's post-Morsi era, then-Gen al Sisi (now Egyptian president) refused to take Obama's phone call---b/c he knew Obama wanted al Sisi to leave the M/B alone.

Nevertheless, Gen al Sisi proceeded to smash the M/B and throw them out of Egyptian politics....he vowed to rebuild the 65 Christian churches the M/B had savagely torched.

=============================================

It should be remembered that while Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood were ruling Egypt, Obama and Hillary showered them with praise and provided billions of dollars in aid, arms, tanks and planes. Egypt has unceremoniously thrown the Muslim Brotherhood out of Egyptian politics.... and hasn’t forgotten the support offered to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Egypt under al-Sisi has now charged Obama and Hillary Clinton for conspiring and collaborating with the M/B and advancing their terrorist activities.

Looks like Hillary can check-off Egypt as NOT a partner in her sap-happy foreign policy ally list.

==============================================

POINT TO PONDER The Clinton Foundation employee, Gehad al Haddad, who was also a Muslim Brotherhood activist AT THE SAME TIME has been jailed by the Egyptian govt. (reported by H/T Western Journalism).

Gehad means jihad in Farsi.

=======================================

AS FREEPER CLAUD POSTED---- I don’t follow Egyptian politics, but it was no secret Morsi et al. had no love for the Copts. Then when I saw al-Sisi visit a Coptic Church in Cairo to huge cheers, his kindness and graciousness to the Christians there and to the Patriarch (to whom he apologized profusely for interrupting prayers), that told me all I needed to know about Obama’s Egypt policy. It is unfathomable how utterly, completely, perversely wrong our government was in Egypt. Obama is a loathsome human being.

COMMENTS---Pres al-Sisi is one of the world's master strategists......bold, decisive and unerring. He received his master's degree at a Pennsylvania War College in Carlisle PA, in 2006.

I hate to be overly optimistic, but does anyone get the feeling that Trump already knows it’s in the bag?

READOUT OF DONALD J. TRUMP'S MEETING WITH EGYPTIAN PRESIDENT ABDEL FATTAH EL-SISI

NEW YORK, NY - Donald J. Trump met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in New York today during his visit to the UN General Assembly. Mr. Trump and President el-Sisi discussed the strategic bilateral relationship between the U.S. and Egypt focusing on political, military and economic cooperation between the two countries. The meeting also included Mr. Trump's senior advisors, Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and Lieutenant General Michael Flynn (Ret.).

Mr. Trump thanked President el-Sisi and the Egyptian people for what they have done in defense of their country and for the betterment of the world over the last few years. He expressed great respect for Egypt's history and the important leadership role it has played in the Middle East.

Mr. Trump expressed to President el-Sisi his strong support for Egypt's war on terrorism, and how under a Trump Administration, the United States of America will be a loyal friend, not simply an ally, that Egypt can count on in the days and years ahead.

Mr. Trump emphasized the strong partnership that the United States and Egypt have shared for so many years and how this relationship is vital to help promote peace and stability in the Middle East, broader region and the world. Mr. Trump also expressed his recognition of Egypt's close relationship with Israel on countering terrorism.Mr. Trump highlighted how Egypt and the U.S. share a common enemy and the importance of working together in defeating radical Islamic terrorism, not only politically and militarily, but also addressing the ideology.

Mr. Trump emphasized to President el-Sisi his high regard for peace-loving Muslims and understands that every day there are people of goodwill that sacrifice their lives and fortunes to combat the growing threat of radical Islamic terrorism.

Mr. Trump said that if he were fortunate enough to win the election in November, he would invite President el-Sisi on an official visit to the United States and would be honored to visit Egypt and the Egyptian people who he has a great fondness for.

Mr. Trump, and his wife, knew on the outset that if he ran, he would win this.

That was a very good statement by DJT, and definitely fits with the position of President Sisi. Incredibly enough Sisi's ideological positioning against radical Islamism has gone totally unsupported by the West. The linked article is not the best (CNN - blah), but I hadn't time to look further. However, despite some odd comments from the writer it shows the important stand taken by Sisi:

Egypt's President calls for a 'religious revolution

Looking for a “ray of hope” this morning and will take heart in this thread.
IIRC, Melania asserted that if her husband ran, he would win!!
President Donald Trump already laying the groundwork for diplomatic relations!!!

Out of curiosity, why do you need a ray of hope? Is there news about the campaign that looks bad this morning?

It is not in the bag.The Democrats can still steal it. Never count a Democrat out until the last dog is hung. Many have learned this lesson to their sorrow. And after the election if Trump wins, the main battle has just begun. The Democrats will try to win through the Courts what they failed to win at the ballot box.

Amazing; Trump has accomplished more good in two meetings with foreign leaders than Clinton did in her SOS personal fundraising career.

Decline of 1.3% in the L.A. Times tracking poll, along with her “regaining momentum” in the NBC Survey Monkey poll that puts up by 5 points (last week, it was down to 2 points).
Another thread on a site elsewhere, is discussing how polls out this morning have shifted in her favor.
RCP just posted CA and NY polls with her up by 17% and 21% respectively. I concede CA is not in play, but OMG, what’s with New Yorkers supporting this corrupt carpetbagger over a favorite son who wants to put them back to work and keep them safe??!!!
Just had hoped to awaken to better trends this morning.

Alas, more depression. Hildabeast reclaims a .4 tenths lead in today’s UPI tracker.
Pray America wakes. Only positive sign: huge rallies!

All I have to say is I’m glad I’m not you people.

It must suck to be so bored as to tie your moods to polls like that.

Let’s see, didn’t Hill applaud the Arab Spring, which almost caused Egypt to fall to an ISIS type government?

I disregard NY and CA polls because he's not going to win those. I would be shocked if it's close in NY.

The 1.3% shift in LA Times I would think is statistical noise.

The narrative of her comeback is definitely something that has already been written. They are pinning their hopes on the debates, especially the first debate. If she shows even passably well, they can claim she's back. Don't buy into it.

I take heart in the obvious difference in enthusiasm. Trump is the movement candidate this time around.
