LOL Really? Sometimes it's embarrassing trying to be the smartest guy in the room...
Going frame by frame...
Opens with him in front of the police car, his hands raised. He backs away. Cop exits vehice on passenger side and moves toward him. He continues backing away — toward HIS vehicle.
[It looks to me like he was trying to entice the officer(s) to follow him to his vehicle.]
He turns around, back to officers, and walks to his vehicle. He drops his hands as soon as he gets to the driver side window.
Expect the media to try to pivot from terrorism (bad for Hillary) to this.
Yep. The kenyan will be wee weed up and on TV first thing in the morning about this.
“Shoot the guy in the foot, knee,———”
-
Yeah,right-—very easy to do in a split second./s
.
.
“Shoot the guy in the foot, knee, but kill him?”
Somebody who is hit in a non-disabling place can still shoot and kill you.
I hope they release the tox report quickly. It never ceases to perplex me how a sane, sober individual would do anything but exactly what an armed police officer is telling him to do.
Not with the door closed and I couldn't tell if the window was open or not........
Regardless, he appeared unarmed with his hands up and they could have subdued him with multi personnel force..........
Doesn't look good for the cops....
There may be more extenuating circumstances that we haven't been informed of but if I'm on the jury and relying on this video, the cops are going down.
People have come to their conclusions based on their personal biases. The video is not clear cut. What you can see is he is moving toward his vehicle. Did the police direct him to do so? Unlikely. He was not following instructions. You an make all kinds of assumptions. He was deaf and he didnt understand English. If someone with a gun tells you to stop, in no matter in what language, you stop. There is certain revealing body language especially when looking into the barrel of a gun. Law enforcement are not trained to kill. They are trained to shoot center mass. This usually results in death. No for shots, or knee shots. Helicopter pilots do not swing around to conceal shootings.
Bottom Line.
He leaves his vehicle parked in the middle of the street. Gets confronted by police, raises his arms but keeps walking back to his vehicle, ignoring warnings. Places his hand into his vehicle against commands not to.
This guy was following his own suicide script.
No. I think blowing the innocent passengers away in the other vehicle is a viable option, especially if all you care about is yourself. I do know, that when I was a Marine, under the ROE, it was not an option for me.
dunno, didn’t work on mine either .. just posted the hot link as a favor
I saw this on the NBC news tonight. The officer was almost certainly lying about him “not showing his hands”.
Yeah, IF this is as it looks, arrest and charge the cops. Get this man justice, get them off the streets and get this story off the news.
The media will spend the next week all over this story, looking for ways to trip Trump up on it with rigged questions.
I’m sorry, I meant if this is as bad as it appears it might be right now. Certainly, if this man had a hostage in the vehicle, or there was a weapon he was reaching for that we cannot see clearly on the video, then let these officers be vindicated.
Read 51 again slowly.
“I saw this on the NBC news tonight. The officer was almost certainly lying about him not showing his hands.”
The guy walked back to his vehicle to the driver’s door. He dropped at least his right hand (nearest the camera) and probably also his left hand which would have been out of sight. I’m pretty sure the cops were telling him not to do that. This guy was either stoned or just plain stupid.
Good golly. It is funny how you question one element of something that you are totally against it. I have no clue if the cops were justified or not. Your assessment is reasonable, in fact, I tend to agree with it. I do know that it was NOT a safe shot, given the vehicle directly in the line of fire. I would not have taken the shot. I would have repositioned to either side of the road. Would I have been more exposed? You bet. But if he shot at me down the road or I at him, it is too dangerous. Shooting perpendicular to the road seemed a better option.
My point is, many of the officer shootings are very dangerous. There was one in Chicago where the vehicle passed between two officers on either side of the street. At one point, they were aimed directly at each other if not shooting awfully darn close to each other. Later in the same vid an officer is reloading while running behind another officer. From his body cam you can see he is aimed at the other officer. I was stopped by the cops once while one held a pistol on me with another officer directly in the line of fire. They are amateurs.
My point is, their procedure is dangerous. They clearly do not practice these scenarios or safe conduct. It is one of the reasons they get in trouble.
I do not understand why this guy kept walking back to his vehicle. Why not do exactly what the three men with weapons pointed at you are asking you to do?
Another woman who should not be a cop.
In other words the suspect was only a second away from cover, a vehicle and a weapon or multiple weapons. It was a good shoot.
In other words the officerS were only a second away from cover, a vehicle and a weapon or multiple weapons. It was a bad shoot.
