I am currently in shock.

My neighbor, a Vet in a wheelchair, just took his life the same way my husband did 5 years ago.

His brother and S-I-L live next door, and the coroner just left with the body.

There are two elderly dogs who have just become homeless, and I have offered to take them in if nobody else will.

I actually heard the gunshot, but thought it was a branch falling on my roof. That’s how close it was.

I really liked the guy. We used to talk all the time.

Please say a prayer for Mark and Patty (brother & SIL) and for me, as I will be helping out as best I can.

So sorry to hear about that tragic event.   Praying for you and all those impacted and devastated by this terribly sad and heartbreaking occasion.

I know that there is nothing I can say, or website to link to here that will ease your pain and sorrow on a sad occasion like this, but some time in the future, there is an old hymn that I always find a small measure of comfort in during difficult times, so I'll prayerfully put a link for it here for you to possibly listen to at some point in the future.

For other participants in this thread, during the primary season at the beginning of this year, I learned from one of Trump's efforts about a group called "22KILL" which works very hard to reduce the number of vets who commit suicide, and to provide help and resources for vets dealing with many issues.   (I truly hope this is not inappropriate to post this information in this kind of thread, and I apologize to everyone if it is.)   For anyone who might want to learn more about this organization, here's a couple links to check out:
