NEW YORK (Reuters) - Republican Donald Trump appears to have carved out a wider path to the White House as a number of states including Florida and Ohio are no longer considered likely wins for Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, according to the latest Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation project released on Saturday.
The project, which combines opinion polls with an analysis of voting patterns under different election scenarios, still shows Clinton would have the best chance of winning the presidency if the Nov. 8 election were held today. Yet Trump has caught up to her level of support in several states.
Over the past few weeks, Clinton's lead in the national polls has slipped considerably. Polls tend to narrow as Election Day nears, and the Clinton campaign has struggled to overcome controversy about how she handled classified information while serving as secretary of state. A separate Reuters/Ipsos poll of likely voters showed an 8-point lead for Clinton has vanished since the last week of August.

Move OH and NC now. Still waiting on VA. Move the ME district now. Trump already very close.
You know it’s bad for Hillary when Yahoo is reporting this.
Either bad link or Yahoo already took down.
Current Banner Headline on Drudge: YES HE CAN!!!
Wondering what’s up with Drudge still having that DOT IN THE UPPER LEFT HAND CORNER OF HIS WEBSITE???
Speculation back on Thursday IIRC about an impending bombshell story coming down???
BTW, Yahoo is reporting nothing because they have no reporters. Its a Reuters article.
Poof!
Just like that (snaps the fingers) and its gone.
It’s painful to live in Minnesota during presidential election years.
However, I have not seen any Hillary signs on cars here. Have seen some Trump/Pence signs though.
Translation: We the media must continue to slowly dump our false narrative of a Clinton "lead" and start showing the polls true meanings before too much egg on our face at election time.
I believe the only reason he’s shown closing in is because its too big to hide. That’s what happened in the primaries though he still “out performed” in nearly all races.
However, I have not seen any Hillary signs on cars here. Have seen some Trump/Pence signs though.
There are no Trump signs or stickers in this area but there are many big Trump signs to the north, the east and the west.
I think the lack of Trump bumper stickers is a sign of there being a huge basket of deplorables who are remaining undercover to avoid lib attacks.
Also, there used to be an enormous amount of Sanders bumper stickers here that are gone and not replaced with Shillary stickers.
The MSM is trying to prop her up but she keeps crashing and burning ever since that ridiculous speech in Reno, NV three weeks ago.
Yes!! So many people forget how Trump exceeded the polls during the primaries and in some cases they were off by A LOT!!!
I saw my first Hillary sign this morning-except that it said “Hillary For Prison 2016”!
I feel your pain.
What has been disheartening to me has been watching my reliably republican Va turn purple, possibly headed for deep blue.
After the enormous rally in heavily GOP Pensacola, FL is going to go Trump - ditto for OH and NC.
That leaves VA and PA on the table but in the end they will go with the trend.
After Bubba’s insult to Southerners, let’s see if Virginians take it up their keisters.
