Public support for Libertarian Party presidential nominee Gary Johnson currently sits at roughly eight percent in national polling, a little more than half of the level he needs to be included in the fall debates, according to the rules. The former two-term Republican Governor of New Mexico has come under fire from some conservatives for acting as a potential spoiler for Donald Trump -- in fact, Trump is benefitting from Johnson's presence in the race -- while others argue that the advocate for limited government has spent too much time and energy pandering to disgruntled left-wing voters. What is his sales pitch to disaffected elements of the center-right? I posed that question and many others to Johnson in an extended, exclusive sit-down interview earlier this week. The first installments of our conversation are featured below

You're absolutely right -- Anyone who hasn't gone through our immigration process shouldn't be called an "immigrant".
I doubt he'll do well. In reality, a healthy percentage of New Mexicans don't like illegals. You'd never know it by the action of the state legislature, though. Fully 65% of New Mexicans don't want illegals to get drivers licenses. The remaining 35% already have them....
His VP, William Weld, is very bad on the Second Amendment:

Gary Johnson is a leftist, big government, gun confiscating, open borders career politician.
There is nothing about him that is libertarian.
Anyone who claims to be a libertarian and says they are supporting Gary Johnson is either ignorant or a liar.
he is a good option for the NeverTrumpers
Gary Johnson ... Objects to Term ‘Illegal Immigrant,’
_____________________________________
Nana does too...
theyre illegal aliens...
they don’t immigrate...
I think so too. Donald Trump should send out one or nasty tweets about Gary Johnson. This will give the media some "red meat" to run with, causing them to seek out Gary Johnson for a response and giving him some exposure on the evening news. The resulting publicity will give him a bump in the polls, just enough to cause reluctant Hillary supporters to start looking at him as a more acceptable alternative.
I've seen one Johnson/Weld bumper sticker on a car here in the ABQ area.
I always like to point out how Johnson Weld sounds painful, or should be a medical product...
Illegal Invaders, not that there is such a thing as a Legal Invader. LOL
“This Gary Johnson is NOT a libertarian, he’s a Willard RAT stool pigeon!!! “
Yes, Ma’am!

“Hundreds” showed up for Johnson
Trump should not elevate Gary Johnson by even speaking about him, much less running ads about him.
That's a job for the PACs. Hello, PACs, are you listening?
The Left are truth deniers.
Libs don't like terms that accurately define them and their kind and call them out on their evil ways.
The libertarian party used to believe in the rule of law and the constitution.
As Reagan used to say about the Democratic Party: “The Libertarian Party left me.”
Stoned boob.
libertarians are open borders everywhere which makes them globalists.
If you crave a one world government then follow these knuckleheads.
I also object to the term “Illegal Immigrant”. They’re illegal aliens. Let’s use the proper nomenclature.
If only he objected to the term Illegal Immigrant because he thinks it should be Illegal Alien...
...
That’s my position. “Illegal alien” is also the official term the federal government uses.
I don’t mind elevating him against Hillary. Run ads promoting him as the pro-immigration candidate and then you can be sure it will only help Trump, and hurt Hillary.
