I wrote my Congerssman:
Upon hearing that some states have had issues with their elections systems being hacked we heard reports that DHS wants to declare such systems critical infrastructure and take control. I think this approach is wrong. Perhaps each state should be required to test their systems in such a way as prescribed by the FBI prior to each election cycle. States should also have a backup “paper ballot” program ready to launch manually in case their system fails.
Please do whatever you can to keep control of the election process at the state level and oppose the DHS control plan. DHS has more than enough to do already.
