South China Sea disputes are turning worse. Last week, Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte had a loud and clear message for China: Stay away from our territory or else it could be a bloody confrontation.
Philippiness warning comes shortly before China hosts the G20 Leaders Summit in the eastern city of Hangzhou on 4-5 September, and one week after a Japan Times editorial revealed that China has set a red line for Japan in the South China Sea. China warned Japan not send Self-Defense Forces to join U.S. operations that test the freedom of navigation in the disputed South China Sea.
Philippines and Chinas hardcore diplomacy is bad news for the economic integration of the region and bad news for investors in the countries involved in the disputes. A military confrontation would disrupt the economic integration and growth of the region and hurt the global economy most notably China, which needs a market frontier for its manufacturing products.

The Philippines don’t have a Navy or Airforce to speak of.
LOL
Duterte is actually pro China and a Leftist by his own admission. He has already abandoned the UN ruling for his upcoming bilateral talks at the insistence of China. He call the Chinese ambassador his friend and the US ambassador a faggot.
This story is just potboiler to keep the Philippine military in check, because he is on shakey ground with them.
Just yesterday Duterte said he used to admire the terrorist group Abu Sayeff.

One who has no armor rides bitch.
Depends on how fast the Phillipines can involve the US.
Yeah, not so bloody, but rather, a sort of a popping sound.
A conflict soebarkah can escalate to blow us all to hell before he’s done.
Understood.
Thought the Philippines were piggy backing on India and the US announcement yesterday of joint military agreement that also included Japan and Australia.
China is getting a message from several places to bug out of the South China Sea
Thinking the Philippines are the little barking dog w friends behind it.... If our CIC is to be counted on
He may have a point....
First thing that popped into my brain when I read the headline... Barry is gonna get us involved......

China must have reneged on the free high-speed rail deal.
It’s one thing to declare war on drug dealers in your own country. But the regional powerhouse isn’t going to let itself be pushed around by a lightweight.
Yes they are. This all is turning ugly.
