I like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. In a dream world the bread is super soft, like the Wonder Bread of my childhood, and the sandwich will have crunchy peanut butter, strawberry jam, and a cup of cold milk to go with it.
Maybe PB&J isn't your favorite sandwich, but I want you to imagine your favorite comfort food for a moment. Maybe it's a hamburger, a piece of pie, or a fruit smoothie. Whatever it is, just imagine yourself enjoying the very best version of your very favorite food.
It's perfectly delicious. Then, imagine yourself glancing up on the wall and seeing that the restaurant had a score of C minuses on their health inspection. Then you go to the restroom and it's filthy. A man emerges from the stall having followed by the foulest odor you've ever smelled in your life, and you notice he's still wearing his apron from the kitchen. Then, the unthinkable happens the man who made your comfort food walks right past the sink and doesn't even wash his hands.

Stay on your skinny ass in the wrong venue and you just might find that ass getting soundly kicked.
"Well, Poppie's a little sloppy."
I have often, as well, ever since seeing this...

It reminded me that I had learned this as a child and remember it yet. Have often thought it would be a wonderful surprise for someone to sing this stanza pre-game.
No, they were the British.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battles confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
Oer the land of the free and the home of the brave!
To put it in today's English,
What happened to the invaders who said they would come over here and take over our country? All dead or running away. Our flag still flies.
I know.
I have occasionally had the chance to kick over their wheel houses and taken it.
And I will once again blame the schools. This is very basic "history of the world" stuff that should be taught in elementary school.
They don't teach reading, they don't teach math, they don't teach history, just what are they doing to those kids all day?
It is.
But we had borrowed it for our patriotic music in the past.
The “hireling and slave” refers to manner in which the British filled the ranks of their armies with mercenaries and their navies with the press gang.
Learning a little history increases understanding. Ask this propagator of agendas how many nations had renounced slavery in 1814.

(Keep the Faith, my friends! We are the saviors of the Republic! Now and Forever!)
LonePalm, le Républicain du verre cassé (The Broken Glass Republican)
It is very likely that there is no one reading this, whose ancestors were never at some time at or near the bottom of some social order, at some time in the human experience. But this King thinks it so great a personal grievance that he cannot let loose of his personal hatred to even think about such a likelihood.
And by the way Mr. King, Woodrow Wilson was out of office, and indeed dead, by the time the "Banner" was made official in 1931,
Nothing could be more counter-productive to any American future, than this sort of historic & hysterical hate marketing.
