Gotta laugh, especially in this day and age. When the redemption doesn’t go down as everyone anticipates, the only ones left standing will be the ones with a good sense of humor and a deep appreciation of irony. :)
Ever see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels? When the Jackal is revealed one scoundrel laughs, while the other is... greatly offended.
Ever see ‘The Frisco Kid’? He plays a Rabbi.
SMH.
Wagging the head in derision, are we? Nothing I said derides you personally or devalues laughter.
That laughter has value does not lead to the conclusion that a successful entertainer can be assumed by virtue of that endeavor alone to be at ‘rest in peace’ after death.
The corollary point was that entertainment and a-musement are often distractions from what is eternally important.
One must work to misunderstand these comments and ascribe malevolent intent to them.
Haven’t seen Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Will make a note.
But Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was nothing if not a morality tale, chock full of Biblical themes. Sin: gluttony, sloth, greed. Temptation, reward, punishment, redemption, forgiveness.
Whosoever has eyes will see and ears will hear.
Remember when Chevy Chase used to portray the arrogant, know-it-all anchorman on SNL’s Weekend Update? He’d always open the segment by saying,”Good evening, I’m Chevy Chase. And you’re NOT.”
There’s a certain type of Christians I like to call Chevy Chase Christians.
“Good evening. I’m going to Heaven. And you’re NOT.”
Such folks might mean well, but don’t realize they are turning people away from Christ.
Completely unnecessary post. Some of you Bible beaters make it so easy to ridicule you. You should be ashamed.
Speaking of SNL, I hear Emily saying,
“Never mind.”
Ah, Gilda. She certainly belongs on this thread. Poor Emily, something to do with her hearing.
Everything will be turned on its head.
Yeah, just like in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
“This.. scamming thing...” :)

Bible believers do not condemn. They warn. That’s not ill will.
I think you are a bot.

Well, there’s the clothed animal movement in the late 50s.
I prayed for guidance. Jesus spoke to me, and said to ignore you. Done!
RIP, Gene.
Young Frankenstein. Loved that movie. ROFL will need to get that and watch it again soon. Sad, Willy Wonka died. That is just how it feels.
