Haven’t seen Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Will make a note.
But Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was nothing if not a morality tale, chock full of Biblical themes. Sin: gluttony, sloth, greed. Temptation, reward, punishment, redemption, forgiveness.
Whosoever has eyes will see and ears will hear.
Remember when Chevy Chase used to portray the arrogant, know-it-all anchorman on SNL’s Weekend Update? He’d always open the segment by saying,”Good evening, I’m Chevy Chase. And you’re NOT.”
There’s a certain type of Christians I like to call Chevy Chase Christians.
“Good evening. I’m going to Heaven. And you’re NOT.”
Such folks might mean well, but don’t realize they are turning people away from Christ.
Speaking of SNL, I hear Emily saying,
“Never mind.”
Ah, Gilda. She certainly belongs on this thread. Poor Emily, something to do with her hearing.
Everything will be turned on its head.
Yeah, just like in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
“This.. scamming thing...” :)
