As I watch Hillary Clinton wish away the fallout of the Clinton Foundations unseemly ties with the State Department during her tenure as Secretary of State, I cant help but think that her self-inflicted wound just bleeds and bleeds and bleeds. Every day that she fails to seriously address the rotten consequences of her poor judgment, Clinton further erodes the already lacking public trust in her. By avoiding a sincere display of contrition, she risks her candidacy and the foundation her family built.
The numbers on the alleged pay-to-play are damning: as reported by the Associated Press, of 154 non-official meetings or phone calls on her schedule as Secretary of State, at least 85 of those individuals were private-sector donors who contributed up to $156 million to Clinton Foundation initiatives.
Perhaps the worst example was when investors who profited from the Clinton State Departments approval of a deal for Russias atomic energy agencys acquisition of a fifth of Americas uranium mining rights subsequently pumped money into the Clinton Foundation. The Clintons subsequently did not fulfill the Obama administrations request for public disclosure of foreign donations.
The public deserves to hear from Clinton an honest explanation of why she felt all of this was appropriate.
When it comes to the Clintons, its not only about what happens, but how they react. The fact that Clinton has not given a press conference in 264 days is far more damaging than the seeming corruption itself.
It comes down to Clintons judgment, and the culture she and the former President create. Even if you give Clinton the benefit of the doubt that her staff acted on her behalf trading access in a way thats technically above board, she created the culture that encouraged the behavior.

Interpretation: "Please Hillary, come out and speak to us, your adoring media fans. Tell some lies, make some spin up, say anything at all really. It doesn't matter because we'll take it and come up with a way to cover for you, we promise. You just need to give us something to work with!"
And why it’s been nearly 250 days since Clinton had a news conference when Trump has had multiple news conferences with countless interviews etc.
A Trump win in a blowout!
Hillary would throw her own daughter under the bus if that’s what it took to become President.
A “sincere display of contrition”? That is what the nuns demanded of us sixth-grade boys when we would purposely fart in church. This criminal needs to be slapped in solitary confinement until the execution date! Meanwhile Time Magazine continues to be an embarrassment to the journalism profession, which of course it has been for decades.
She is going to stick to the script that says all the accusations are political, ginned up angst over nothing. The press will support that, has been so far by making an effort to point out that no favors have been attached to the donations. The falsehood promoted is that circumstantial evidence is no evidence at all.
Wow...Time Magazine! Is the MSM going to finally hold a Clinton to account? Where’s the boot-licking, fawning article about how wonderful she is and there’s no fire to all this smoke?
Some of the old Henry Luce rewrite team must have snuck back in.
This sounds like the author crying “please, please, make it go away,” as if a simple mea culpa or presser would magically undo all the crime and damage. What reputation, btw?
I hope you are right. There are a lot of LOFOs out there who have heard none of this or, if they have caught wind of it, brush it off as a VARC / VRWC witch hunt.
Well, it’s a pretty soft-spoken article regarding Hillary’s judgment .. kind of sickening to me.
She made mistakes; didn’t mean to do it; didn’t realize the conflict; staff didn’t assist her, ad nauseum!
I watched the Journal Editorial Report when it was replayed today and was shocked to see Dorothy Rabinowitz defending Hillary over the Clinton Foundation scandal. In the past she has usually been pretty good.

Wrong. What the public deserves is to see this criminal standing in the dock while being handed a lifetime sentence for treason.
I think she’z done. Gotta say though, the first debate will be FANTASTIC for Trump. Sooo much ammo.
As much as I would like to believe that, there are still a lot of voters out there who don't care about her emails, don't care about how she compromised national security, and don't care about "pay for play." Their attitude is: "I don't care what she's done because she's a Democrat and not a mean, evil, racist Republican, so I'm voting for her, and she's also a woman, so I'm voting for her because oh, wow, it would be so cool to have a woman president."
poor judgment...
No. Poor judgement is grabbing a snickers when you’re 13 and not paying for it.
Selling a country of 350 million out over and over and over and over is a little more than “poor judgement”
