This is exactly why we are happy that Trump is the Republican nominee. He is in it to win it, not to graciously lose to Hillary.
Romney should be ashamed of himself for attacking Trump, instead of Hillary. Or he should be honest and register as a Democrat.

Of course. They could roll Romney at will.

To think how many years they had the wool pulled over our eyes, it’s mind boggling.

Romney looks worse and worse. The 2012 race was actually pretty close. Obama was a known quantity: he was bad. But Romney barely campaigned. He wasn't tough. He had attacked his fellow Republicans, but he was reluctant to attack Obama. And still -- Romney came close to winning. I think by one calculation, a mere 60,000 votes in the right places would have made Romney president.
But he didn't really try.
Trump?
Trump likes to win. And he knows how.
As the Democrats are discovering: it's different this time.

I can’t trust my political instincts at all anymore.
I thought Romney was a decent guy, I loved Ted until a few months ago, and I doubted Trump.
Trump IS the real deal.
I finally spent some time reading Hundreds of his tweets, and there was nothing that he wasn’t right about.
And nothing particularly offensive, unless you’re a delicate flower.

None of the other GOP candidates would even be close to Hillary right now even with all her baggage. They would have knuckled under to the media, and treated Hillary with kid gloves to make sure their fellow Uniparty globalist colleague would not be harmed.

Romney gave up after the first debate. He never tried again. I remain convinced that his family or business interests were threatened in some way, but then he was subsequently rewarded for standing aside.

Willard wasn’t trying to win. Neither was McQueeg. They were the ringers put up by the establishment to assure a loss to Zero. Their only real battle was to keep Conservatives away from running a real campaign against Zero.

Just like I’m nostalgic for Walter Mondale and Mike Dukakis. It’s nice having opposition that defeats itself.

Trump is beating them up
Telling the truth about them to their constituents
They don’t like that. Don’t want the African Americans to know that Democrats only care about them when election time is near
Romney was a pussy cat, easy to beat, easy to attack and they knew he wasn’t going to hit back, bullies like that

Oh, for the good old days when the RNC would serve up a Designated Loser who was well acquainted with the proper means of losing graciously.

Sure they are nostalgic about Romney because he is beatable.
McCain beat him in 2008.
Obama beat him in 2012.

Horrified by the prospect of Trump in the White House, Obama and his party have changed their tune about Romney. As they denounce Trump as "unhinged" and unfit, they're getting nostalgic about the 2012 Republican nominee they now describe as principled, competent and honorable. Yeah, he was easy to defeat.
Dammit! Why won't Trump lay down and play dead like Romney?!

At the time, Romney was so principled that he gave his workers cancer and tortured his dog on the roof of his car. Are they now renouncing those miserable smear words from four years ago?

That and she likely has thick files on all of the others because they are politicians. Trump isn't. And that is what has all of the 'experts' -- media/Dems/GOPestablishment -- in a quandary. They know how to play politics. But Trump isn't playing the same game and they are getting snookered at every turn.

I still let myself get twisted too easily by the press.
When hey said he was waffling on immigration, I had an attack.
He’s not changed from his original position.
But maybe he said it in a different way that got him a 7 point jump in a week :)
Perhaps he explained to hispanic leaders in that meeting that there IS no country while illegals run rampant.
Maybe he made a deal to help them out on another (actually legitimate) concern they have.
Trump’s a smart guy. A lot smart and a lot richer than me.
