The Venezuelan government has announced it will be fining bakeries that make people stand in lines to buy bread.
The National Superintendency of Fair Prices noted this measure is intended to dismantle the strategy of generating anxiety in Venezuelans, as the lines are more of a political decision than they are a reflection of a lack of raw materials.

Reminds me of the Soviets paying people to stand in line at Lenin's tomb.
This stuff is making me dizzy, this communism/socialism stuff.
They’re going to ban eating next.
And the DMV improved wait times by removing clocks from the walls.
What will Comrade Bernie Sanders think of this? He was so proud of food lines because it meant the poor were getting food.
Arf!
Ok so now what? You want bread, you take a number and come back in four hours to get your bread?
At the Michigan Sec. of State, you could sign in and they would text with your wait time. People could walk around, sit in their cars, get a hair cut (I needed one before the picture).
Guess that idea could work in Venezuela, if they have Obama phones.
I am curious. Do they use a bingo ball roller or a roulette type wheel to make it fair?
“The lines are more of a political decision than they are a reflection of a lack of raw materials”.
Too many stupid people with too much responsibility.
I don’t get how it is the bakery’s fault that people are queuing up to buy bread. Isn’t that the people who are in the lines fault?
I remember reading about how, upon seeing a line forming up, Muscovites in the old Soviet Union, would immediately join that line. They didn’t initially know what the line was for, and very often not the several hundred people in front of them, because, hey, it might have something rare in stock and this is your only chance to get it! Rumors would fly among the people in line as to what it was for, but eventually, maybe even after several hours, they found out. Imagine the guy who is desperately short on bread lining up in a line that is selling toilet paper, which he has plenty of, only to find that his 3 hours in the toilet paper line meant that he just missed the last of the bread in the cross town bread line.
Life under socialism sucks.
I’m not understanding the Venezuelan people. According to public documents from US Customs, Venezuela is the primary landing point for smuggled arms from Germany and Eastern Europe. We’re talking pistols, rifles, machineguns, RPGs and land mines. There’s enough armaments flowing through that country to kill every Marxist government scum in Venezuela 10 times over.
A pun is the lowest form of humor.
A bun is the lowest form of baking.
The Original closed in 2005, but the place is good...People lined up before 4 am ...
Real world socialism is to theoretical socialism as a punch in the nose is to a mere insult.
