Thee political world is all atwitter following Donald Trumps statement last Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina that, believe it or not, he regrets having said the wrong thing in the past, particularly where it may have caused personal pain, a list which might include Heidi Cruz, Megyn Kelly, and Ghazala Khan.
I was less astonished than most, however, because I noticed a substantial and important change in Mr. Trumps campaigning more than week earlier. Although I mentioned it during my radio show, it seemed to go mostly unnoticed in the broader media, perhaps because of justifiable initial skepticism.
In Abingdon, Virginia on Wednesday, August 10, Donald Trump gave nearly an hour of remarks in a tone entirely different from what he had offered in public before. No yelling, no venomous rasping in the back of his throat, and, although he was as strong as ever in his positions on issues (several of which, most particularly trade and NAFTA, I strongly disagree with him on), the seething anger and divisiveness which had characterized so much of his campaign to date was simply gone. .....
.....While Trump had been on good behavior briefly in the past only to return to Trump being Trump mere hours later, the Abingdon speech felt different. It felt as if someone at this point I suspect it was Kellyanne Conway had gotten him to realize that the path he was on was doomed to fail and that a possible road to victory did not involve forsaking policy positions but simply abandoning a poisonous rhetorical style.
I thought to myself and said to my wife
If Trump had been doing this for the past couple of months, hed be beating Hillary right now.

Trump hasn’t changed.
Trump is beating Hillary.
Trump has always been beating Hillary.
Because Trump is saving the best for last..he is going to pound these Battleground states with Ads and totally wipe the floor with Clinton at the debate(If she even shows up)
Trump is Trump
I was skeptical when he announced. Was never a fan of his.
He’s made me a believer.
Make America Great Again
A poll shows Trump leading by 5 in Pennsylvania. Daybreak poll shows him up by 2 over Clinton as of today. The “new and improved” Trump is giving the mushy middle who were going to vote for Clinton because Trump was “too scary” for them, a good excuse to dump her. There is no enthusiasm for her, just look at the anemic “crowds” she attracts at her “rallies.” The only solid support she has is in the media.
GROWIN’ !
“Because Trump is saving the best for last..”
I think we have to trust that he knows what he’s doing. Someone said that not only is he a master chess player, he does in in 3D. Also, he’s thrifty for a billionaire and hates to waste money. He’ll use his money most efficiently, when the time is right.
“Where Has THIS Trump Been?”
No, where have *you* been? Don’t be saying Trump has changed just because it took you this long to correct your cranio-rectal inversion.
Oh go pound sand Ross
maybe he roped the dopes......they’ve thrown everything at him and now he’s back...like Superman III when Clark Kent went back to restore his powers
LOL,
Best response!
Answer...That's how.
How do you get rid of one opponent? Answer....Pay attention now.
Trump is morphing from a primary contender into a general election candidate. He had 16 serious opponents (alright Linda Graham was an exception) so he had to standout from all those governors and senators, all lifelong career politicians
Now Trump must win independents and peel off some democrats.
I’m still in awe at the numbers at his events.
Praising with faint damnation. Counter productivity from the low IQ.
The media and Hillary did their best to paint Trump as one scary guy who could not control himself and had no business being in the White House...Now Trump has unpainted that with his speech and with his compassionate trip to Louisiana along with an 18 wheeler full of supplies for the water logged folks...Meeting with Franklin Graham( son of Billy) wo is running relief down there with his Samaritans Purse was added frosting an an already new appealing cake which Donald is baking the new image in...long as he attacks ideas and stays away from your a stinking crooked Hillary he will beat her like a Canadian fur seal...
Answer: Always right in front of your face.
If there’s any change, it’s just that he’s telling you the same message in a different way.
You can’t beat The Donald for showmanship.
He has played this campaign like a fine violin, reaching for the heights, softly caressing some of the notes, and coming on fortissimo at just the right moments. And always with great zest and energy.
