Donald Trump is undergoing a campaign pivot, but it doesnt have anything to do with his remarks Thursday night that he regretted some of his statements (he left unspecified which) over the course of his raucous year-long campaign. Trumps semi-apology set political pundits abuzz, but the most notable change in Trumps rhetoric in recent weeks has really been his direct and repeated appeals towards African-Americans. Its a shift that began before the Republican presidential nominees latest campaign shakeupbringing in Breitbart News executive Steve Bannon Wednesday and parting ways with Paul Manafortbut Trump put a particularly fine point on it Thursday and Friday at rallies in states with significant black populations.
No group in America has been more harmed by Hillary Clintons policies than African-Americans, Trump said Friday afternoon in Dimondale, Michigan, just outside of Lansing. To those hurting, I say: what do you have to lose by trying something new? One thing we know for sure is that

True but if he is going to emphasize law and order that will be seen as a natural appeal to places where violent crime is actually going up, which is mostly inner cities.
Trump should keep pounding away in the large urban areas that 40 years of unchecked Democratic control has destroyed cities and their lives. He might make some gains.
And many liberals anyway, still deride the South as a hotbed of prejudice and racism.
Yet we see that Senator Tim Scott, a Republican, was elected as a senator in South Carolina.
How do the liberals explain that he’s not a Democrat??
Heck how do the liberals explain that he was elected with a major percentage of the white vote in a southern state such as South Carolina?????

It will take an absolute cash explosion to accomplish all of Trump's stated goals, and I firmly believe that a cash explosion is exactly what he has planned. And if you haven't noticed, this guy doesn't put up with losing.
Go Trump!
-—No group in America has been more harmed by Hillary Clintons policies than African-Americans,-—
Long past time the blacks truly get off the plantation - and for good. Bravo Mr. Trump. Nobody can say Donald J. is not sincerely for ALL Americans.
But obama is just as culpable, if not more, than Hillary is for keeping the black man down. Why not make it the ‘obama-clinton’ policies?
Me too. I thought so the instant I heard it. I watch CNN after rallies to see what they have been assigned as talking points, and this sales pitch was more or less "left alone" for over 24 hours. It made passing mention, but was vastly overshadowed by "regrets."
Trump repeated the "What have you got to lose" the next day, and this time the press was ready. The remark is divisive, it assumes the black population is monolitihic, it was preceded by false statistics. And the response from whoever has the keys to Hillary's twitter account, "This is so ignorant it's staggering. @HillaryClinton 7:19 PM - 19 Aug 2016", is incoherent. Then come articles about how this sales pitch dooms the campaign.
He's got a winner. We'll see how Team MSM tries to counter this, but the suggested lines of rebuttal are lame.
BRIANNA KEILAR: Can't you see the ad being made, where -- because the Clinton campaign does this. It's not even a voice other than Donald Trump's. They'll put up the "What do you have to lose?" Then they're going to have a picture, no doubt, of that African-American protester at one of Donald Trump's rallies who gets punched in the face by a Donald Trump supporter. They're going to have Donald Trump saying, "I'm going to pay for that guy's legal bills" and so on. And they're just going to pick different things that Donald Trump has said. Isn't that damning?
I’m seeing positive results in FB. It’s working!
If he’s not offering up new programs like Affirmative Action, he’s okay. He’s simply proposing good economic programs that will help every citizen.
Pointing out how that will help Blacks and their neighborhoods is not pandering. It is a very important point that they need to have driven home. I’m glad he’s doing it as part of a plan to educate them with regard to how the Democrats have exploited them, and how he will actually do something that helps them.
The important thing is, he is not raising them up by diminishing the rights of others, or proposing gifts to them at the exclusion of others.
Of course, the “Grievance Culture”, of which the Left is the Author, is the Auger that drills holes in the bottoms of many of the boats!
Yes, all of the media have the same talking points.
The Democrat candidate can generally count upon 90-95% of the black vote. This is absolutely critical to their chances of winning and they not only count on that vote but they TAKE IT FOR GRANTED.
If the Republican can take even 20 to 25 percent of the black vote, than the Democrat CAN NOT win in nearly every case.
For that reason, you are likely to see the media double down on their efforts to paint Trump as a racist and they will likely start planting more people at his rallies that will make him seem like he is appealing to racists. Such as people with Confederate Flag shirts and KKK paraphernalia, etc.
They will also plant more "Black Lives Matter" racists at his rallies to disrupt and make it seem that the black community is aligned against him (Trump).
Keep a close eye on the Wednesday Trump rally in Jackson, MS. That area is 80 per cent black. The Democrats are likely going to pull out all the stops to completely disrupt that rally in an effort to try and show American that the black community is AGAINST Donald Trump.
In other words, the Democrats are in FULL PANIC MODE with this new approach. They know that they are vulnerable in this area because the plight of the black people has gotten progressively worse under their leadership. Until now, no Republican has dared to point that out and offer a different way than just putting more people on welfare and food stamps while crime, hopelessness and despair continue to rise in their neighborhoods.
Donald Trump is definitely OVER THE TARGET on this one and he will be taking an enormous amount of flack in the days ahead. Mr. Trump needs to stay on the attack and continue to point out that the black people have suffered under Democrat rule and show how a Trump presidency will improve their prospects.
Remember this. The Republican Party was formed in large part to free the black people of slavery. The Democrats fought to keep slavery. Even during the days of Jim Crow, it was the Democrats that wanted to keep segregation and second-class citizenship in place for black people. George Wallace was a Democrat!
Since LBJ, who was definitely a racist, the Democrat Party has been hard at work enslaving the black people all over again through social programs, inferior public housing, lowering standards, and dependency upon government welfare. This has destroyed black families by making it possible for black fathers to escape parental responsibility as the government is now supporting woman and child. This basically has resulted in fatherless children with no male guidance wallowing in the despair of poverty and turning to the streets instead of the schools for their education.
Utterly reprehensible how the Democrats have treated our black citizens in inner cities. Some of them have succeeded in life nevertheless and have proven to be great citizens but all you need to do is drive down Martin Luther King Blvd in any major city and see the despair and hopelessness that most inner city black people are dealing with.
If Donald Trump starts dressing like this:
...I ain't voting for him. :)
Donald Trump will make his hair into an afro and get 100% of the vote....
Every trucker i talk to who just so happens to be black are pulling for Trump. Most black folks like white folks who work for a living are decent people and are not fooled by all the bs.
I don’t know much about him, but I hope he runs for President some day.
” And the response from whoever has the keys to Hillary’s twitter account, “This is so ignorant it’s staggering. @HillaryClinton 7:19 PM - 19 Aug 2016”, is incoherent.”

They can’t seem to see that the statement is so SIMPLE it’s staggering.
The black living in a crime infested neighborhood afraid to let the kids go out and play would “get” the statement.
.
I think the statement,What have you got to lose? may be the game changer.
That’s a great point and correct.
Lyndon Johnson quote: “I’ll have those N-——s voting Democrat for 200 years”.
Maybe Trump is trying to get the BLM crowd to chill out a little so we can heal our nation at least a little. The lefties won’t have that though. First to cry “racist” and first to be racist.
