Donald Trump is undergoing a campaign pivot, but it doesnt have anything to do with his remarks Thursday night that he regretted some of his statements (he left unspecified which) over the course of his raucous year-long campaign. Trumps semi-apology set political pundits abuzz, but the most notable change in Trumps rhetoric in recent weeks has really been his direct and repeated appeals towards African-Americans. Its a shift that began before the Republican presidential nominees latest campaign shakeupbringing in Breitbart News executive Steve Bannon Wednesday and parting ways with Paul Manafortbut Trump put a particularly fine point on it Thursday and Friday at rallies in states with significant black populations.
No group in America has been more harmed by Hillary Clintons policies than African-Americans, Trump said Friday afternoon in Dimondale, Michigan, just outside of Lansing. To those hurting, I say: what do you have to lose by trying something new? One thing we know for sure is that

Big turning point. GOP allowed this gaping Dem weak spot to stay unexploited for too long. How can you just give away the entire black vote election after election when they're the biggest victims of liberal policies?
Trump's just not as stupid or complacent. Good on him.

I think the statement,”What have you got to lose?” may be the game changer.
.
Trump is wooing all U. S. Citizens.
He is promising Blacks no more than anyone else.
He has promised more jobs, lower unemployment, an improved economy...
That’s Black centric? Bull stuff!
I admit that Trump does address Black’s directly, but he’s not promising them anything he isn’t promising everyone else.
He is laying out his plan, and explaining how it will help them vs how Obama’s policies have helped them.
He damn well should.
The gop was the party that ended slavery and the first to elect blacks to congress (in the 19th century). Why the gop has just ceded a 6th of the population to the ‘rats is a mystery.
About time our side competed for the votes of these Americans.
Even Thomas Sowell (sadly a Never-Trumper) is waking up to the good Trump could potentially do:

Naw, it's a softball for the lefties.
Libs be a-scared.
How dare Trump try to free their slaves.
The Democrats and their black “leaders” have sold out the black American community for decades. Time for them to break their chains and recognize they’ve been used and played.
Totally agree - Trump’s a patriot and sees the electorate in a way no presidential candidate, on either side, has in a while: as Americans. Agree totally that his latest focus is just part of his larger vision of fixing the entire damn country.
To quote a famous democrat (JFK):
“A rising tide raises all the boats”.
When the economy, safety, peace, and confidence go UP, it helps ALL Americans, no matter what their skin color.
But, too much over emphasizing on AA’s may appear to be pandering. Anyway, we all know he’s just ‘doing that’ and plans to deport everybody he doesn’t like. liblogic 101.
Predictably, Fox totally tearing this apart. “It’ll never work...’law and order’ criminalizes black people...Trump talks in front of a white crowd so the message won’t reach them....blah, blather, bs”
Liberals complain that the GOP doesn’t “reach out” to Minorities. Only Democrats can bribe them and treat them like helpless children.
When Trump reaches out to Minorities, it’s horrific for them.
It’s made more horrific when he isn’t trying to bribe them for their Vote, instead he wants them be a part of his Campaign to restore American exceptionalism.
I bet it’s nice to be asked for your vote, to be wanted, after all these years.
The elites in both parties have been treating us voters of all colors with contempt for a long time.
The Democratic Party has done so much damage to black Americans. I am glad that he is reaching out.
