I have said this SO many times, over SO many years here on FR...
The ONLY reason America hasn’t sunk yet and gone Full Commie is that we’re so absolutely, filthy, stinking RICH due to stop-gaps put in place by Our Founders!
Of course that NEVER stops the Socialists among us from TRYING to ROB us of our hard-earned wealth, and they’ve made AMAZING inroads, but we owe a debt of GRATITUDE to our Founding Fathers.
Those men LIVED Tyranny and set us up to resist it, pretty much on Auto-Pilot!
Some days I feel that We’re So Screwed, but other days I’m reminded that we are living a MIRACLE of foresight!

You are so right. God Bless America, and do you know why we are the land of the free? I think it’s because we have never had a dictator or a king (who is a dictator by another name.) I pray that we can continue this form of government, after what we’ve been through in the last 8 years. I think we are the only country who can claim that, but someone will always try to become our king or dictator.
