Lochte is 32. His main squeeze for the past couple years is a Playboy Playmate model and last year's "Miss July".
Phelps is 31 and has an illegitimate offspring with his "fiance" both of whom he highlighted at his swim events.
I couldn't care less about their private goings-on, but to think that all athletes are angels and always straightforward just because they're Olympians is a pipe dream.
In this case, different strokes for different swimmers, they make their own paths in life. I hope things turn out well for them in their various chosen paths.

Well, whatever happened, Lochte is now the top story on Drudge. Thus, the swimmer is now more famous than other athletes. Sadly, he is not a good role model for young swimmers.
Probably "WaterGate" would be more inclusive of ALL four swimmers, lol.

Yeah, if there is one thing street criminals want, worldwide, it is easily fenceable property. A cell phone has to be extremely high on that list. That he had his phone was the suspicious detail from the start. I’d also look at his flight to see if it was his original plan to leave then or to stay for the final ceremonies. This dude went from first to worst.
Most small establishments would consider it an honor to have Olympic celebrities in their midst, even if something broke.
IMHO, my doubts are on the Olympians, especially after they have been caught lying about the incident, while the authorities are simply playing their duties.
They don’t even shake hands on the podium anymore.

I agree entirely. I love my country, and I have great hopes for it, but we have a lot of work to do. I also entirely agree with you pointing to government at the top of your list. The reality is that the example that has been set from government is that ‘the ends justifies the means’. If lying gets you what you want, go for it. If cheating gets you what you want, go for it. This is the message.

Who cares, let them leave. Just trying to make a point. they are just lucky that the green water that filled the swimming pools was the biggest mess up so far. I was worried that this would be a target for terrorism. I thought that maybe this would work against them as you don’t want the whole world pissed at you, even your muzzie nations.
