Oh cr#p.
Maybe cruise prices will drop now. Been so overpriced for months and months.
Is this a cruise ship or a ferry?
a local ferry...
Its a ferry, but has 140 overnight cabins, casino, night club, duty free shops, pool, etc. So it is a bit of both.
The USS Harvey Milk is going to be a ferry boat.
I stand corrected. I do know the ship will go both ways!
What’s wrong with a supply ship ???
My grandfather was an able seaman on the SV Morning which was a supply ship...
but he went to the Antarctic with Scott and Shackleton in October 1903...
I found the ship’s manifest in the National Archives in London (Kew)
That is some interesting history.
This ship?

Yes
My grandfather signed on Oct 03 as an able seaman for just that voyage...
they were temps...I’ve read the manifest orders...the company signed promising a round trip...
It was the summer that Scott had been stuck in the ice...oh great Antarctic explorer !!!
When Shackleton got sick because the Discovery was still stuck in the ice etc he was moved to the Morning ...
Scott didn’t want any of the able seaman who were not sworn to secrecy like the officers and regulars to blab when they all got back to England so many of the seaman were “beached” at Lyttleton even though they had signed on for the whole voyage and they were suppose to be taken home to England...regular pirates...
In April 1904 my grandfather and several others were left behind when the ships went back to England for Scott’s grand acclamations from the Royal Exploration Society...or whatever it was called...
However some of them told the local New Zealand newspapers using fictious names...
Since their free ride had deserted them the able seamen had to get on another ship and work their passage or stay in New Zealand..or pay their own way home...
My grandfather stayed and met and married my grandmother in Christchurch and my father was born there...
Wee bit o history there eh ???
:)
I hope the sharks do not get food poisoning from eating all the cruise ship passengers........ : )
Aluminum or steel structure? Aluminum burns real nice once you get it going.
