Survival Expert James Rawles Warns: “There’s Going To Be A Massive Run On Firearms… Bigger Than (TR)

James Wesley Rawles is a former intelligence officer of the United States Army, prolific author and one of the top survival experts in the world. In his best-selling book series Patriots he paints a terrifying picture of a post-collapse America where food is scarce, currency is worthless, law and order have broken down, and survival is a daily struggle. It’s a fictional tale, of course, but one that is grounded in real-world possibilities.

In his latest interview with SGT Report, the SurvivalBlog.com founder breaks down the probability of such a scenario and explains that should it come to pass, where hyperinflation destroys our currency or a world war ravages America, the most important thing to have in your possession will be essential tangible assets.

Further, Rawles notes that as we get closer to the possibility of a Hillary Clinton Presidency, we may soon see panic buying of firearms, ammunition and gun-related accessories.

Venezuela is a microcosm of a centrally planned government and currency run amok… and we need to learn from their example.

If you notice the things that people are clamoring for are tangibles… they’re looking for food and they’re looking for currencies that are inflation proof and that usually means precious metals.

So if we’re going to learn anything from Venezuela it’s tangibles, tangibles, tangibles.

…Wake up… watch what’s happening in Venezuela… you need to get your beans, bullets and band aids squared away… Those tangible items are going to be what pulls your family through the hard times ahead. And regardless of what happens to currencies, if you have a honest one year supply of food, preferably two years, and a good core position in physical precious metals that you hold at home… hidden… not in

It’s ridiculous to think that people will be carrying around gem test kits.

Trade requires trust, but also verification for a basis. Assaying precious metals and grading stones are vital to establishing worth.

Many people already possess the kits. Most any semi-professional geologist will have them, and they don’t require consumables like assaying kits. Some old-school jewelers will have both assaying and grading kits.

Both skill sets would be a valuable asset for an isolated community.

Imagine what a tool and die guy could build...including any size ammo.

I don’t see any talk about distilling water. Is this considered impractical?

If they are put in a canning jar and then hermetically sealed, NOTHING is getting in or out.

I have jars of stuff on my shelf in the basement that is years old.

It does help if they are dead and skinned.

Reminds me of an old joke where a bear asks a rabbit...

"Do you have a problem with $hi+ sticking to your fur?
"Why...no." says the rabbit.
At which point the bear picks up the rabbit and proceeds to wipe his butt with it.

I think the original poster I replied to meant 'flora' rather than 'fauna' with regards to finding sanitary wipes in the wild. Thus, my retort.

Distillation is fuel-intensive; it requires some equipment (and perhaps expertise) and not least of all time and attention. It's also not readily portable, if you're in a bug out situation.

Filter straws seem to be the popular thing nowadays.

"The argument is that if the economy goes belly up the value of money will go away. Gold and silver are for AFTER. It is a store of value; an insurance policy."

Yep. A lot of people are missing the point on precious metals. Assuming you survive the collapse, you'll have value stored in case the currency is worthless, or even replaced. Preps first obviously, but PMs if you have wealth left over.

Btw, a tip I picked up. Place food item in ziplock freezer bag, zip almost all the way across seal, insert common drinking straw, suck out air, then close zipper. Not as efficient but good stop gap for several months.
