A 67-year-old woman was charged Sunday in connection with a shooting that seriously wounded a teenager.
Delores Gibson-Council was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly shooting a 14-year-old male Saturday night. She is being held in the Bibb County jail and bond has not been set.
The incident happened at about 8:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of Flamingo Drive, according to a Bibb County Sheriffs Office release.
According to the release, Gibson-Council stated that she was traveling on Flamingo Drive when she encountered a group of juveniles in the roadway. She said she blew her horn, and the victim came to her door and made a threat to her. She then shot him in the abdomen.
He is listed in critical but stable condition.
The release also stated that earlier in the day, Gibson-Councils home was burglarized, and she believed the 14-year-old was involved. Investigators are looking into that, the release stated.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the sheriffs office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.

Somehow I don’t think the ‘teens’ were going to help her cross the road safely..................
I would not go near Flamingo Dr. In Macon with a tank. Nasty place. The woman was well within her rights I’m sure. She will never be convicted in Macon.

Not even if the 'yout' in the hospital is black.
Sadly, it sounds like she’s in serious danger now, just living in that neighborhood. The hoodlums must know who she is. Maybe the police are holding her until some arrangement can be made for her safety?
Unless there are important facts that I'm unaware of (certainly possible) I say "not guilty".
I encounter this ALL THE TIME when driving through inner-cities. Group of “teens” walking down the middle of the road, blocking traffic, DARING some motorist to object. Michael Brown was pulling this shit, and THAT is why he was initially spotted by the cop.
When I was 14 and interacted with people in their 60's I was always "yes, sir" and "yes,ma'am".
Why is this woman being charged?
Thank you Laz!
If I was on the jury, she would.
I don't mean not guilty in *that* way.I mean not guilty as in she very probably had damn good reason to be afraid and,as a result, her actions were very probably entirely justifiable.

Me too. Then again, I’m sure we were raised with manners and to be respectful of people and authority.
We’re dealing all too often, with uncivilized “youth”, to whom these ideas of respect and manners are foreign concepts.
What to do, about the fact that we have critical numbers of uncivilized people in our midst, is beyond the pay grades of the liberals who run our government and other institutions such as schools.
;-)
I think that Sheriff in Milwaukee summed it up very nicely the other day.In fact,I think I'm gonna try to find a transcript of his comments right now.
OK...bringing a little humor into a serious discussion can be good!

Excellent!..................
Question is:
