If my theory about his candidacy is correct then this was the only state ballot that really mattered to him and his team. Mission accomplished.
McMullin, running as an alternative to Donald Trump, filed the required 1,000 signatures on Monday to be on the ballot, Utah Lt. Gov. Spencer Coxs office confirmed.
Petition filed. He will be on the ballot, Mark Thomas, Coxs director of Elections told POLITICO moments after members of McMullins campaign walked into his office to file.
The deadline to file the signatures was Monday by 5 p.m. Mountain Time, 7 p.m. Easter

Romney’s Hillary Clinton enabling treason has just made it certain that a Mormon will never be POTUS. Great job, Willard.
I HATE that mother ######.
I wish he would get in the ring with me like he did Holeyfield.
Except I’ll destroy him
I never had any opinion one way or the other about Mormons, but Romney, Beck and others are souring me on them real quick.
Assuming foam boy wins his florida nomination for senator over the pro trump candidate, I will be voting for someone else along with any other jerk on the ballot who cuddled up to the witch (rhymes with?).
Yeah, I won’t be voting Rubio either. A vote for Rubio is a vote for Amnesty. No thanks.
Here he is with Trish Regan on FOX . She makes him look foolish. It wasn’t difficult.
The Mormon arm of the Clinton campaign funded by the vindictive loser, Romney. Fox News will probably give this stalking horse plenty of free air time so he can become the new Ross Perot, guaranteeing another Clinton victory.
I’ve always had great deal of respect for Mormons and how most seem to live their family lives, but the political maneuvers of Romney and other prominent Mormons is raising one red flag after another. If the state of Utah goes along with this latest scheme to damage Trump, I guess we will have learned more about them.
A normal Republican will pull 500,000 to 700,000 votes out of Utah. A normal Democrat will pull 200,000 to 250,000 votes out of Utah.
If you throw McMullin into this mix....he might convince 5,000 to 10,000 Republicans to vote in this manner. But I just can’t see him pulling 250,000 votes and eliminating Trump from winning the state.
Just when you look at the guy’s resume....you just start laughing. So, he is a college graduate and did missionary time. Then? He was some refugee camp center guy in the Middle East, and then some secret agent guy for a decade, then ended up as an investment guru for some Wall Street crowd, and then got hooked up with Republican adviser deal in the House? It’s a seven-line resume at best.
Which big word has you stumped?
I guess the same ones you seem to automatically accept. Tell me what a “neocon” is. Tell me about “trilateralism”.....
yeah man the whole Elite group is begging for civil war.
If this comes down to Nevada could have given it to Trump,
it’s time to dance.
Not just words. It’ll really be time to take action.
Egg McMuffin is the Cheap Labor Express’ revenge against the voters for having the temerity to nominate a candidate that isn’t an amnesty candidate.
They have spent 30 years preventing the citizens from stopping the illegal alien inundation and they are not about to allow us to keep the rule of law or our country.
I can’t see someone thinking to themselves..i was going to vote for Trump but now i am voting for Egan McMuffin?
Their fate is sealed. They chose poorly.
These are “conservative” people who were never going to vote for Trump but don’t want to say they voted for Hillary. In their mind their hands are clean when Hillary gets elected.
Whether Trump wins or not (and not just in Utah), Romney, other ‘prominent’ Mormons, and the name of the entire Mormons will be blamed/ruined.
Be it fair or not, at that point, nobody cares.
As a very long-term lurker, and reasonably (early 2000s) early poster, I have to say that you are my favorite contributor to this site, by a hefty margin.
Ooops, saw your comment later.
I could have refrained from saying essentially the same thing.
You had me at Trish Regan.....
no problem
The trilateral commission refers to an actual organization, organized by David Rockefeller when he was at Chase Manhattan Bank. Its purpose is “dialogue” among (1) Japan, (2) North America and (3) Europe. While this particular organization has been joined by many others, with an expanded scope of countries and interests, it remains a convenient marker.

Corporatism refers to the organization of society around interest groups, among these large corporations. Sometimes it only refers to large corporations. The opposite is individualism. In fascism, for example, the economy is run by another form of trilateral: the government, big unions and big business. Individuals and their interplay with each other in markets are brushed aside. As conservatives, we are neither (pure) individualists nor (pure) corporatists. We believe in both the moral autonomy of each individual person and the goodness of free association. So, we like families, churches, various kinds of business organizations and (voluntary) unions. We even government, when it is subject to the rule of law and accountable to the people through elections.
Neo-conservative. The neo-conservatives are former liberals who joined with conservatives after the Democratic Party went completely radical. They don’t agree with us on social issues nor on economic issues. But, they do think we should have a strong national defense, and furthermore they actually think we should be the world’s policeman. George W. Bush and Hillary Clinton got us into all kinds of wars, and the neo-conservatives can’t get enough of that. They don’t care whether our so-called allies like Germany and Japan spend 1 percent on national defense, because we have an unlimited amount of many and an unlimited number of soldiers that we can sacrifice to save the world from whatever threat to anything exists anywhere.
Donald Trump thinks we should have a strong national defense and use of only very sparingly. And, when we use it, to utterly destroy the adversary. Think of the invasion of Grenada.
